If they put some watu style holes in the handle or some other way to make it a proper spear tip then great. Spyderco makin’ more cutting tools is good. Although the waterway kinda does all of my fixed blade things and then some. So I likely wouldn’t pick it up, it’d fill the same odd niche the whale...
Common in all the spidies I’ve had. Most models that don’t use the tube as a connector work fine (or better) without the tube in my experience. The spydiechef in particular looks great without the tube.
I see your point, but what annoys me more is people use the word patina in the knife world referring exclusively to rust. Wish it applied further, as my Caribbean is developing quite the patina at work :D Also I’m assuming this confusion described is because most people’s first encounter of the word...
Do y’all think putting frn scales in a UV decontamination box would speed the discoloration along? Interesting idea. I wonder if this would work without damaging the knife? The sun will heat up the knife and open up the FRN so it can be bleached by the sun. I'm not certain about your suggestion, bu...
10 weight nano-oil (I think that’s what you’re using) works great but you have to be super careful with the amount you use. If you Nick Shabazz it and drown your washers in oil you’ll attract quite a lot of grime, but the cool thing about nano-oil is that you need almost none for full effect. Try ju...
Fluted with integral lock. There were prototypes made years ago. These would sell well so I am unsure why they have never reached production? Oh man I wish there were some integral comp locks still in the lineup. A pm2 or a para 3 with an integral Ti comp lock would be glorious. Or hey since the Sa...
Thank you kind mr necro man! I’ll add my Watu to this list, I seem to be in a perpetual honeymoon phase with this thing. Plus as a non spydie mention, I’ve got a few pieces from Takamura Cutlery’s cheaper, red handled, range that preform WAY above their price point. Nothing beats em as far as budge...

Love that design. Especially on something smaller or without any gimping or choils or anything like that. It would also help with tip strength I’d think. I always wondered why the Jester disappeared, it seems like such a useful design. If one showed back up in the lineup in some more steel options I...
Still waiting on an lc200n blade beaten within an inch of its life to get posted here. Maybe I’ll just have to wait for my work knife to get some more hours in.
