Re: MT40P – HIC Mule Team Dropping Soon!

I’m trying to order and getting an error “We could not verify your information or something in your information has been found to be associated with fraud. Please try again. Re: MT40P – HIC Mule Team Dropping Soon!

I just tried throwing 200 in my cart, but I didn't have $30,000 to cover the tab, so I didn't try checking out. It did let me put them in there, though. After you do that hit ‘Update Quantities’ and it will adjust to the number in stock. 91 as of a few minutes ago. I got mine on the way, along with...

Re: 15V Shaman!

They have them today? Price? I’ve been in there twice looking. Yep. I went in at 2. $290 before tax said they had 15 Right on! I skedaddled over there and was able to get one too! Thanks for the heads up! For the locals, I called ahead and they said there were 15 in stock. The shop wasn’t too busy ...

Re: 15V Shaman!

I don’t know if I would expect it to be a significantly smaller run, but maybe they sent fewer dealers more knives each to try to address some of the frustration with the other releases. Just a guess though.

Re: 15V Shaman!

Traveling to Africa this week, going to be hard to get that drop. Anyone know if Spyderco.com would block an African IP???? I just connected my VPN to South Africa and logged into spyderco.com, added a knife to my cart, and went through the checkout process except for the actual purchase. That all ...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

Dye, Ti and ceramic BB! Really hard to photograph the real color, it’s a dark OD Green. https://i.postimg.cc/5N8y7msr/D0809-C6-E-3-F06-4125-8581-5620-C7-E5-C02-C.jpg I like the green! I added a Ti cage, lightening spring, and ceramic ball (from OCD4EDC) to mine too and it's BUTTERY smooth now.

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

Here’s something odd I just noticed…my knife is slightly magnetic. Just me, or a quirk of the manufacturing process?

I don’t know how far behind BladeHQ is, but I got an order in on 12/9 and it’s still processing.

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

From a business standpoint, 15V with a really good, reliable heat treat may get reasonably close to Maxamet's performance with better yields. I get the impression Maxamet (just based on the amount I've seen at the past two seconds sales) can be pretty finicky. I don't have a Manix yet, and 15V sound...

Re: Anyone home stabilize their scales?

I got some zebrawood and stabilized it myself about a year ago. It wasn't the cheapest endeavor, but I like projects so I picked up a vacuum chamber (stainless steel pot with a thick glass lid), vacuum pump from Harbor Freight, Cactus Juice, and a toaster oven to cure them. I also grabbed some of th...

Re: Rex 76 mule. Who got one?

I picked one up at SFO on Tuesday and it is wicked sharp. Looking forward to throwing some scales on over the weekend and testing it out.

Re: Z-Max & Z-Wear with Zebrawood Scales

Thanks everyone for the kind words. When that scale cracked I may have ordered more Zebrawood, plus some cocobolo and olivewood, so someday when the memory of sanding fades there may be more. In the meantime I've been simultaneously experimenting with modifying Halpern scales and they turned out rea...

Re: Halpern Tek-Wood Scales?

They're definitely nice scales but the texture was too aggressive for me. So I removed it. I'm going to do a full post on that but here's a teaser.

Z-Max & Z-Wear with Zebrawood Scales

I was lucky enough to get Z-Max and Z-Wear mules and had the bright idea to follow the Z theme and make myself some Zebrawood scales. It turned out to be a lot of work, and they're far from perfect, but I'm happy to have something unique that I made and I'm not afraid to use. Now, I should say I'm n...

Re: Upcoming MT32P (SRS13/SUS405) discussion thread

I'm surprised I didn't notice this earlier, but apparently the Halperns got an early look at MT32. They posted a new site for their scales (they OEM the ones Spyderco sells, but have a bunch of other variations on their own site) and the blade in the photos is clearly marked SRS13/SUS405 with a visi...

Re: Halpern scales availability

So Halpern Titanium is the parent company of, and operated by the same folks (Marianne and Les Halpern) as Three Rivers Manufacturing. TRM is a knife company that makes the Atom and Neutron and a few others, and they've become as popular as they are difficult to get. Right now they can't make enough...

Re: MT29P - Mule Team Featuring Z-Max PM Release Info!

Win! I finally got a mule after missing out on several in the past. I’ve been enjoying trying new steels and I’ve been loving my Maxamet PM2, so really looking forward to trying this one out.
