Re: I like that Spyderco brings out so many new models, but...

I have carried a Delica for 10 years. It fills my requirements for a pocket knife. I also have a Salt 1 PE for kayaking and a Salt 2 SE on order. I stick with the Delica size. My original blue FFG Delica was lost hiking in Heber Springs Arkansas. I carry an orange one, and have a blue and a GITD.

I haven't put a lot of thought into it. On duty I carry my Delica weak side.

Re: Good kayak knife?

I have a Salt 1. The lanyard hole is too small to get standard paracord through easily! Tactical mistake!

Re: Crazy idea: Tanto Delica

I like tanto blades and have a Cold Steel Mini Tanto. It is not a folder. I think of a tanto blade as being more geared for self defense than a tool for general purposes.

What is the marking on the blade opposite side from the Spyderco emblem?
That is Sal's makers mark. :spyder:
I thought Seki-City Japan was the maker. Their name is already on the knife.

Re: The best pocket knife ever

[quote...how often do people actually encounter the police, or are in situations where the police will see a pocket clip?[/quote]

If I lived in an area where knives were this big a deal I would.......not use the clip. I would put the knife down inside my pocket completely out of view. I do it ...

Re: Delica 4 Glow-In-The-Dark FRN

I ordered one. There goes 8.458% of my stimulus check!

Edit 4/6. The Delica arrived today. I laid it out in the sun for 10 minutes and took it into a dark room. It glows for sure!

Tungsten Carbide

I'm new here. Does Spyderco have any interest in tungsten carbide knives?

Re: What's your worst "bite"

Nothing like the above for for me! Years ago my pocket knife failed to close due to pocket lint in the mechanism. My finger was sliced. Since then I always clean the lint out after washing the jeans.

Re: What was your first Spyderco?

I purchased a blue FFG Delica 4 about 2010. I also have a Salt 1. I got the Salt mainly for the yellow. Drop a yellow knife in the woods and you have at least a ghost of chance of finding it. I lost my blue Delica while hiking Surgarloaf Mountain in Heber Springs Arkansas in 2017. I will no longer ...

It seems like the FFG plain rules the day since the Delica serrated only comes with black scales.

Hi Almic,

Serrations are pretty easy on a Sharpmaker and will actually be improved by the sharpening. sal
I am considering a serrated Delica or Salt 1!

Re: Micro Serrations

Magnify any edge enough and it is no longer smooth. For the slicing I do 99% of the time with my Delica, I think a "rough edge" works better. I hesitate to buy a serrated knife due to sharpening considerations.

Micro Serrations

Yesterday I used a Lansky Puck to put a course grind edge on my carry Delica. I mainly slice stuff and don't shave with it. I think it is going to be my preferred method. :) Just a thought.
