Re: Black Friday/Cyber Monday/Holidays Sale!
I think it's fair that the boxes have more value as they are a random product. Also the limit of 1 per person is a huge bonus as it guarantees more people get to participate. Ebay has individual sellers flipping 20+ 2nds knives, that is a bigger issue.

I am pretty ecstatic about my box, the mix of knives shows someone definitely put the effort into giving some variety.

I would like to see MAP change to a tier system, once something hits a certain age a dealer can mark it down. I feel like some dealers are punished for buying less popular models.

I have a flat grind Genesis that I bought because it was 3V. Got it 4-5 years ago when I was going steel crazy. No real regrets other than it wasn't the perfect handle color, but back then you just got lucky to find one.
Good steel, really nice micarta and no thrills.

For anyone experiencing issues, we're sorry for the frustration. The platform our site is on (Shopify) is having a global issue. You might be aware, Shopify is a huge platform (used by over 30% of e-commerce sites in the U.S.). They are working as quickly as possible to resolve the issue. Hang in ...

Re: Shelter Cove and 8CR17MOV
Does anyone here use fillet knives outside of a fish processing capacity? I am wondering if they can work well for other food tasks perhaps? I have never had a proper fillet knife and it would be pretty niche for me, so I am curious how versatile they may be able to be or not.
They are really ...

Spyderco hasn't embraced the current influencer marketing trend. While the Youtube home shopping network is dominated by newer brands and savvy marketing. I have been inundated with top liner lock knives this last week since Kunwu dropped their new line. Multiple knife brands are dropping product ...

I have some 10 year old Shun AUS10A knives that are finally starting to show issues. At this stage they are becoming brittle would be the word? They have a lot of micro fractures from being used on plates over the years. I have been sharpening on coarse diamond sharpmaker going on 2 years and can't ...

Reputable dealer till you know enough, I have been scammed 2-3 times buying vintage Spyderco's off eBay.

Re: China
Only thing Tariffs do is drive up the price of goods. The local place that makes pottery clay can't afford to pay tariffs on importing raw materials. They source clays from the local areas, China, India and Australia to make products. Literally shutting down US based industries because they can't ...

Re: China
Tariffs come straight out of our pockets. The whole knife industry had to raise prices as most manufacturing consumables come from China. Trying to edge out the competition has hurt more domestic industries than it has helped. We live in a global economy now and have pawned off a lot of toxic ...

I have a tanto pm2, spanto pm2 and saber grind pm2 they are to much of a novelty for me. Once you carry to much material out the cutting geometry goes away. To get it back to China, I think the Value Line is the perfect place for a fixie filet knife. Very different from the Bow river and the Stok. Been decades since I fished, but the Wilson Bow River is probably the most used knife in our kitchen. My wife uses it every day and I only need to touch it ...

But by that logic, the Bow River also doesn't satisfy either group, yet I still bought one to take with me fishing at my local rivers and streams. Many other people also bought one, and it was so popular that this second model is now being made. How is the Shelter Cove any different from the Bow ...

Re: China
Curious, why? If the Bow River is any indication it's likely to be well made. Spyderco's Chinese knives are typically 2x the cost of what other companies would sell them for but I've not been disappointed yet. I don't fish so not interested in a Shelter Cove but I low key want a stack of Bow ...
