Re: Native 5 salt replacement scales

Also if anyone has a native 5 and is interested in trading some yellow scales for some rit dyed black scales, we could hook that up.

Native 5 salt replacement scales

I have rit dyed my native 5 salt, with some success but I miss the beautiful pristine yellow. I haven’t had any success finding replacement scales. Can anyone offer some insight on where a guy might find some replacement scales for a native 5 salt?

Re: What is Mini Bugout Equivalent for Spyderco?

I I’m curious how easily the centofante 3 is operated 1 handed. I own many seki city models and love them all. The centofante 3 doesn’t appear to have as long a ricasso as the delica, for example. The Centofante has almost no Ricasso, but you can still let the blade drop on your finger and will not...

Re: What is Mini Bugout Equivalent for Spyderco?

I’m going to throw the Centofante III into the ring. Similar blade length, thin blade stock, maximized cutting edge. Enough difference to keep it interesting - hollow vs flat grind, studs vs hole, back lock vs axis. The Centofante III is a fantastic knife, often overlooked. Edit : oops, missed the ...

Re: S30V Teal Endura - MGE Wholesale Exclusive

Have to kinda laugh. In another thread, S30V in Sage is not premium enough. Now, S30V in Endura is like **** yeah baby. S30V, the most premium nonpremium budget high-end very good mediocre stainless steel, since 2001. Excellent and very funny point. Granted I’m as hype as anyone to see an s30v endu...

Re: Para 3 lw

... I am sorry to disapoint you, my friends, but you won´t get that "scientific reasonsing for no choil" ... :D I like choils and like to carry knives with choils (these days PM2, Stretch, Chaparral) All I am saying is: Let´s keep it the way it is in that Spyderco offers choices for every...

Re: Para 3 lw

Ignore Warstein, he's well-intentioned but wrong. ;) Some of us have been asking for a Delica & Endura 5 with a 50/50 choil for years.... ... Awaiting Wartsteins lengthy, scientific reply with multiple quotes about the reason for no choil! I am sorry to disapoint you, my friends, but you won´t ...

Re: Para 3 lw

That is a peculiar thing. Is it too late to change the name of this thread? Technically you could change the name, since you are the op.. But it was you who initially brought the Delica into play ;) (https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=86132#p1406601) and said you´d somehow find it i...

Re: Para 3 lw

.... In short...there seems to be better alternatives for your money when it comes to the standard Delica these days. Equal options for cheaper, or better options for not much more money on knives of similar size. Criticizing the current prices of the frn japan models. You’re definitely right that ...

Re: Para 3 lw

Not sure what you're saying or asking...I decipher it to say the standard frn/vg10 Delica is currently priced at $84 new. Criticizing the current prices of the frn japan models. You’re definitely right that there is some steep competition in that price range. If they were $65-$70 this would be a to...

Re: Para 3 lw

Pat is correct, the Chap LW and other models in the price range don't "blow the Delica out of the water" per se, but it's hard to deny there are other models out within $20 or so of the standard Delica at $84!! Just looked it, wild it's that price these days. The Chap LW/Delica comparison...

Re: Para 3 lw

No way...Delica has been surpassed by so many models (Chap LW) alone blows it out of the water, especially at the price point. MANY other Spyderco models rank above the Delica these days. If it weren't for the Pakkawood model, I'd never bat an eye. That's like people stuck in the 80's saying Montan...

Re: Para3 lightweight stiff

Hi all, I received my first spyderco knife today, the para3 lw. Out of the box this knife was extremely tough to open and close. I have read plenty of reviews that this knife should be buttery smooth opening, but struggling to get it open from my experience. Is this normal or should I return the kn...

Re: New Salt sprint run idea

With the Salt lineup being so well loved, and all the LC200N interest & inquires about it on Salts, I came up with an idea- How about a Salt lineup sprint run? Much like how the Seki lineup all got the Hap40/burnt orange treatment- how about the Seki Salt lineup get a sprint run with LC200N &am...

Now that we have the Para 3 in a LW model and are starting to get sprints, what're the chances of a Para 3 Salt in LC200N?
I’m with you man. I think that’s the most natural progression but I would love to see lc200n throughout the whole lineup. The h1 salt line just doesn’t cut it

I want to overthink the maintenance. Thanks though, keep it real No problem brother. I like to tinker too just not usually on my knives. You asked for advice so I shared my angle on it. It is your knife and if you want to take it apart all the time go right ahead. I’ll never tell someone what to do...

Re: Advice on delica/endura maintenance

Why can't you disassemble them? Are they the pinned stainless versions? For rough backlocks, I like to put a drop of Nano Oil on the smooth, rounded area of contact between the lockbar and the blade. One drop, a few open and closes, and usually it smooths out dramatically. Nano Oil is great stuff a...

I just open and close it under running water, then blow it out with compressed air followed by a drop of mineral oil. It isn’t a motorcycle, don’t overthink the maintenance.
