Re: Para 2/3 Salt?

Perhaps the "regular" Para 3 LW or Manix 2 LW in BD1N would be rustproof enough for you already? I like that steel a lot more than I thought I would in my Manix LW, and no corrosion issues whatsoever so far... Then there is the Native 5 Salt in LC 200 N. Imho a better design than the Para...

Re: Para 2/3 Salt?

Hey all, So recently I got one of those fancy para 2s with the emerson wave. It's been my EDC now for about two weeks and really gave me an appreciation for the para 2. I also own a para 3 and prefer it's size. However, it is K390 and it's very humid here in Virginia. So my first few days carrying ...

Re: First time you saw a Sypderco?

Heh, I've actually looked back on this moment and laughed. I remember when I was in high school. My Dad came and had shown me a knife. I had considered myself a "knife collector" at that point, and pretty much based my stance on the heavier they are, the better they are. What he had actual...

Re: Manix 2 blades for sale online. Act now.

You can order blades for the Manix 2 directly from Spyderco's web page. This is a once-in-a-lifetime deal that will last only until the Manix 2 is no longer made. If you order now and are one of the first ten callers, or one of the other callers who calls in later than that, you not only get the bl...

Hi Wade,

We try to avoid committing to delivery dates as they often change for one reason or another. I can tell you it's not on my mfg schedule that I got this week, which goes to next March.

Hey Sal....

what might happen to be on that schedule hmmm?? :)

Re: Shaman Set Up

Have to agree with "using it some before adjusting". Give it a couple weeks. That sounds like a long time, but it's really not. A lot of my knives have been perfect right out of the box. Others have taken a couple weeks to break in. Some I HAVE had to make adjustments to. It's best to wait...

Re: Honoring the late Butch Vallotton

Butch Vallotton, you will be missed. I hope your life was full of happiness and joy. While this is nothing in comparison to the loss your family must be feeling, you're also a great loss to the knife world. Thank you for your work, and rest in peace.

Re: DragonFly II in K390

I plan to buy the whole line. Endura, Delica, and Dragonfly. Out of the three the Dragonfly II is my favorite. Never had a knife that could fit in my coin pocket and still be comfortable running it through anything I'd put a shaman/manix/para2 or para3 against. I've never pulled my dragonfly out and...

Getting into the Native Salt is starting to get a bit pricey as well compared to the other alternatives.

Re: Good Spyderco intro knife

I'm sure it has been said. ( I didn't read through all the comments). A byrd line would be my go to. When i was 13-20 I really had no appreciation for knives. I grew up in the country and everyone and anyone had a knife in their pocket. "Wow! This is heavy! Must be a good knife!". Never pa...

Difference in the wave?

Hey all, I've owned an Endura wave for a few years now. Loved its function, ease of opening and closing, the weight and how slim it fits in the pocket. I've found i didn't use it much for a work knife though and tended to lean towards a dragonfly for basic needs (I'm a manager in a warehouse, so usu...

Re: Spyderco Endura Wave 13 year review

Excellent review! I have carried an endura wave for going on 3 or 4 years now. It has done everything from carving when bored, to opening oysters at a roast. Had more pocket time than any knife i can think of. The saber grind is great for sturdiness. I love a full flat grind but the saber grind with...
