Re: Crunch-Time Hardware? Spyders For Trying Times?

Most people think I over do it anyway, but I usually carry three knives. One in each back pocket and a small one in my coin pocket. My coin pocket is always a dragonfly and is usually used most. In my back left pocket i usually carry something more heavy duty, either a shaman or a Manix 2/XL. In my ...

Re: Crucible 60 NiTiNOL

Gail and I began testing salt water corrosion resistant materials in the early 80's. We were divers and sailors and felt there was a need/market for knife that could be used in Salt Water with little or no corrosion. This is a problem with a knife because the edge is the first to go because it's ex...

Re: 1st spiderco

Tough call there between the native 5 and the manix. I've never handled a native myself. As for the manix, what a champ of a knife. They have a ton of different options and all of them work beautifully. If you're thinking self defense, the jimping on the manix will most certainly keep it in your han...

I see the biggest knife sins in the kitchen usually.

Pull through carbide sharpeners.

If i could tell you how many times i've seen someone pull out a knife that has obviously been sharpened with one of those...

Re: Serrated Shaman?

I haven't owned a full SE PM2 but i do have a SE Shaman. I love it and really have no doubt when i use it that it will get the job done, what ever it may be. I've used mine to cut through steel tie down straps on pallets, two inch thick tow straps, and open a nice package from amazon containing our...

Re: Knifejoy Exclusive SMOCK!

I love the blade steel, but i'm kind of with Tkok83Spy. For a first exclusive i figured they would have gone for a different handle material. A marbled carbon fiber with CPM-20CV and i would have been sold.

*edit* I'm still probably sold...

Re: New to the forum, was told you guys might like my photos

I do enjoy people that actually have an eye for photography. Unlike myself where *place knife in center and click* is usually how it happens. My style will never bring out all the details and beauty in a knife though.

Love the work!

I'll put up my blast shield in advance of this idea. If the CBBL won't work on a small one... Compression lock? *ducks* I love the idea of a mini manix, but if we add in the compression lock aren't we coming close to a mini shaman? actually... i want a mini in both. Not even slightly. The Shaman an...

Re: Manix2 XL vs Shaman

Comparing a manix 2 and a manix 2 XL is somewhat like comparing a para2 and a para3. The Manix Xl is great and it fits wonderfully in the hand. It's a little larger than a shaman. I say it's like comparing a para2 and para3 because of the extra handle length at the bottom, it's just enough to come a...

Re: Help with Para-military 2

They look good to me, Depending on the price (i know you said the blue m390 is 40$ more). I would go with the blue though. DLC blade, M390 steel is amazing, that blue and black look is beautiful. The digi camo S30V is no slouch either, you'll be happy either way you go if you decide to go with a par...

I love everything about mine... except one thing. I'm not huge on the saber grind. I've been spoiled with the FFGs and I just know it wont cut as smoothly as others. Even with the preimium steel. Not disappointed i bought it at all.

Re: What's your worst "bite"

Those Camp 10s are great. I don’t love the handle but it is a great value and chops well. My worst bites have not been Spydies. I cut the tip of my middle finger off at Boy Scout camp as a kid with an Old Timer Stockman. They stuck it back on with adhesive strips and it healed up ok. Looks good but...
