Re: How many knives do you normally carry on you?
I know this is radical......but I've started carrying zero. I keep an XL Griffin pocket tool or a Gerber Shard on me at all times, add a flashlight most of the time, and have the Spydercos, Leathermans, and SAKs located strategically throughout the house, car, wife's car, work lunchbox, backpack, et...

Re: Spyderco Forum Engagement Down
I think it's a combination of these type of formats "going out of style" and a sort of "market saturation". It seems like so many companies of all types are releasing products faster than existing products need to be replaced or upgraded. And I'm not knocking Spyderco; they make ...

Re: Thorough - Multi-Tool Face Off
Leatherman Squirt PS4 is my go to. It's small, but it's all you need most of the time. The Skeletool and the Charge/Wave are also great options. The Skeletool RX is probably my favorite (gotta love the full serrated blade), but the PS4 is just super easy to carry and it's so useful. I used to be a G...

Re: Any "real-world" tests of SE H-1?
Why are we so obsessed with these "tests"? Fully serrated edges are awesome for cutting stuff. Five minutes after using one, most people would agree.

Re: Full SE versus combo edge?!
The more I think about it, full serrated seems like the way to go for knives used for most types of cutting. I didn't get it at first, but the more I think about it and the more I get into using and sharpening full serrated knives, I think it's the way to go.

Re: Owing two duplicate PM2s. Crazy?
I own several duplicates.....if I lose the main one, I don't want to have to wait to order another. It's also nice to have one for hard use, one to leave in the car, golf bag, etc.... It makes me feel a little crazy, but I also think it makes sense to have a back up.

K390 Ladybug is awesome, but so are any of the serrated Ladybugs.
In general, Ladybugs are better than Manbugs.

Re: Spyderco shopping on Amazon - experiences
I've had issues with getting "older" models from Amazon. For example, I ordered a Salt series knife that I would have expected to have the coated hardware as shown in the pictures, but I received an older version that had the non-coated hardware. I also ordered a UKPK that should have been...

Re: Higher end US made Spydercos?
It depends on the tool's purpose. This may be unpopular, but I think the models out of Seki City are the best daily carry/use knives. I do like the idea of USA made, and I think the Native 5 LW is a great knife, but Spyderco's use of overseas manufacturing is clearly not the same business model foll...

Re: Colors - Talkin' Story - Marketing
Higher visibility colors are easier to find if dropped. Unless you are some kind of super commando, you don't need to be as "tacticool" as you think. The blue, yellow, orange, green, pink, etc...colors done by Spyderco are very practical and very appropriate for 99% of users. I don't reall...

Serrated Edge Retention
First of all, the Spyder Edge is as much of a "revolutionary concept" as the opening hole and the pocket clip. Specifically, the Spyder Edge Ladybugs are the real deal. If you don't have one, get one. Or get two. The H1 Ladybug with the hawk bill blade, probably my favorite, is essentially...

Re: Why did you join?
I bought a couple smaller Spydercos in 2017/2018 (Byrd Finch, Manbug Salt, etc...) as an upgrade for the cheaper and/or larger knives I was typically carrying. I’d mostly been a cheap Gerber guy until then, but there is so much more out there. A Leatherman has become by go to carry, but my small Spy...

Hi Stanolszews, Welcome to our forum. H1 steel is not available in China. I'll watch interest in a Finch with a clip. We're working with a couple of makers to see if hey can manage a Compression Lock. Hi Conner, Yes, imported steels. Hi Born, We're working on it. we'll see. sal Sal, Thanks for the ...

A Finch with a pocket clip.
Byrds with H1 steel.
Compression locks? Maybe that’s a little crazy.
