Re: Help: Chaparral Clip Screw Location

Hey there, I recently came across this issue myself as well. Definitely a bit frustrating after you’ve opened the knife up! :) https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=95651 It sure is. Got lucky last night and found a Chap with a “DQ” manufacture date at Sooner State Knives. Sent out all...

I think this was a rolling change in the past few years.

My CF Chap with old clip screw placement (closer to the end of handle) has a April 2020 date code.

My FRN model has the new clip screw placement and date code September 2021.

Hope that helps.
That’s a huge help. Thank you

Help: Chaparral Clip Screw Location

I have a set of custom scales for a Chaparral. A while back I sold the knife and kept the scales. I recently purchased a new Chap, and when I tried to install the custom scales they no longer fit. At some point the pocket clip screw location was moved closer to the center of the clip grooves. Does a...

Nice scales! Where did you find yours? Seeing a lot of nice custom wood scales lately.

Thanks. The scales are from Cuscadi. Takes a while to get them, but they do great work. These are desert ironwood.

Re: Vanax PM2 Lets Do This!!!

Vanax was brought up years ago January of 2018 on these forums. I recall hearing the heat treat being limited to only 60 hrc under the best circumstances. That was custom heat treat stating s30v level of wear resistance and 4V toughness. If the mules come out I will certainly buy one along with a s...

I had no idea the native had gone to linerless g10?
Quite a while back now. Maybe 2 years? I think it coincided with the change from S35vn to S30v.
I should have been more specific. The g10 s110v native 5 is now linerless. Just happened in last month or so.

Chaparral with full steel liners (not nested)

Can anyone confirm that the carbon fiber chap or the Raffir Noble chap still come with the full steel liners and not the nested liners? I recently ordered a native 5 that was advertised as having full steel liners but came as a cqi linerless version. I just want to make sure that I’m not surprised w...

Re: Native 5: Signature Folder vs Lightweight ?

Yep. I can confirm that the g10 is now has no liners. I ordered from DLT and was advertised on their site as having liners. This is what was delivered yesterday and I’m not happy with spyderco or DLT. I ordered custom scales that required the liners that I am unable to cancel. I’ll be returning the...

Bought a cheap one off of Amazon that had great reviews. Junk. Would have to set up on Jupiter to get it into focus. Lesson learned. I’d definitely be up for a quality Spyderco version.

Re: Native 5 g10 rex45 alert thread

Maybe the market is over saturated with Rex 45? Since January we’ve had the Pakkawood Shaman dealer exclusive, Manix 2 Sprint, a couple of Para 3 dealer exclusives, Para 3 LW Sprint, Native LW, and Native G10, with 3 more sprints to come (let me know if I overlooked a model). I’m not complaining. I...
