Re: New Double Sided CBN Benchstone
I have used mine dry, however on my dmt stones, when used wet sometimes you'll see a little corrosion next time you use them if they weren't completely dry when they were put up. Since the spyderco is carbon steel than you may have the same issue.

Re: New Double Sided CBN Benchstone
Ive had mine for a few months and don't have any complaints. The stones are very aggressive, even the 800 grit is pretty coarse. Id get a 1200 grit dmt and use it in conjunction, if you want to refine the edge further.

Re: CBN Benchstone Comparison Question
I have both, and in my opinion the coarse cbn is more aggressive than the coarse dmt, the fine cbn is comparable to the fine dmt, but I find the cbn fine cuts faster. Hope this helps.

Re: Is there a release date for new PM2 S45vn
I agree, when the s45vn comes out id give them a call and verify that what you are getting is what you want. I ordered a cold steel knife from a online store(whose name I won't say), and instead of getting s35vn I got cts xhp.

Fixing a stuck pivot
Nearly a year ago I got a s35vn dlc pm2. I wasn't ever able to adjust the pivot. I tried heating it up with a hairdryer and soldering iron. I finally drilled into the pivot screws enough to be able to take the screws out. I've got a hardware kit on order. I know spyderco no longer lock tights their ...

Re: First Spyderco for Little Brother
Any of the seki models would be a great choice. Personally for someone who is just getting into knives and are getting their first knife, I would go with the endela in vg10. While k390 is a great steel, especially for hard use that a novice may use their knife for, it is also going to be difficult f...

Re: Mirror polished edges - Which steels are better (and worst) for taking them?
Typically s110v has better edge retention with a coarser edge.

Re: Long Term Knife Storage Corrosion Protection
Typically I'll use mineral oil. It does a fairly good job of protecting against corrosion. From what I've found it doesn't turn into a gel, and doesn't gunk up the pivot.
