This is a pic of Jim Keating's custom Chinook that came before the Chinook 1

Re: Chinook 5?
Here is the decades old "Chinook 0" that Ken Onion made to Keatings design with a trainer as well. You can see how the Chinook 1 developed from it.
In the end, if Sal makes a Chinook 5 and it's a Chinook 4 with a newer steel, I'll still buy it.

Re: Chinook 5?
My understanding is that Keating preferred the custom done for him by Ken Onion to be the model but Spyderco decided on the Chinook 1 design and that the 2,3, and 4 were Spyderco's evolution of the design. I'll see if I can dig up a pic of the Keating/Onion "Chinook". I'm not saying that K...

Chinook 5?
Will there be a Chinook 5 or is the Chinook line extinct? I myself would like to see a return to the Keating Chinook roots with a true recurve Bowie similar to the custom Chinook Ken Onion made for James Keating prior to the Spyderco Chinook 1. That would have been an expensive knife to make 20 year...

Re: Canis Problem?
2 mm X 0.4 mm X 5 mm long screws cured the problem. The screws are available from Boltdepot

Re: Canis Problem?
They are lined up correctly. Waiting on new longer 2 mm X 0.4 mm screws to attach the clip.

Re: Canis Problem?
It seems based on an old post here that the Taichung models use a 2 mm X .4 screw thread. My bad for making assumptions in my haste to get the Canis in my pocket. I ordered some 2 mm X .4 mm screws in 6mm and 8mm lengths. According to the experts here, that should work. I'll certainly let you how it...

Re: The "Chicagojimbo" (Yojimboston?)
I'm enjoying mine but hope I never have to visit Chicago, Boston, or other places where good citizens are not trusted.

Canis Problem?
This is also posted on Blade-forums. I got my Canis late last week. Love it! But I prefer deep carry clips. No problem, I installed my preferred clip that use on all my Yojimbo 2's. I know it takes a little longer screw and I had some in my tool box. Upon mounting it I noticed that the liner was bei...

Re: The heinous Canis
Kudos to Michael Janich for helping to make this happen. I've been hoping for a Canis since Kelly first envisioned it and was disappointed that Blackhawk backed off. Doubly disappointed when Ernie Emerson pitched EKI as the imminent manufacturer then dropped it with no explanation. Now Spyderco is m...

Re: Sheath for Respect
No they don't. I don't know who made the Kydex but it is well made. I would prefer the leather if I could find one. Maybe link me to the manufacturer of the Respect sheath.

Sheath for Respect
I bought a respect on the aftermarket with a nice Kydex sheath but without the original sheath. I have contacted Spyderco through email about buying just the sheath but have not gotten a response. Can anyone suggest another route or source?
