Re: Are acid washed knives safe for food prep?
Vinegar is in the dressing you put on your salad. Ferric chloride is used to treat the water used to make your Kool-Aid. Your stainless kitchen knives are 1/6 chromium. Chromium? Remember the movie Erin Brockovich? It will destroy your kidneys and liver, in addition to creating those unsightly skin...

My Spydiechef and new Kapara are backup prep knives when travelling, camping, etc.
When home, the Shun's and Wusthof's do the heavy lifting.

Re: DLT Kapara Exclusive!
She's a beauty Great job Spyderco and DLT Drops shut with the latest CQI improvements. Scales are smooth and nicely variegated. It's not as easy to close as say a Para 3 or PM2 since there is less handle to grasp. I think this will make a nice food prep knife based on the blade shape and handle abov...

The $500 price is another issue
Happy wife, happy life
You might find a Fradon Lock Delica in HAP40 on the secondary market as well, if smooth CF is to her liking.
Mine's a razor blade and sharpens like a dream

Re: Z-Wear Shaman lookout thread
I cant get on the forums while at work since knife and gun websites are blocked and I missed another dealer drop. BHQ's text came in at 1:29 which was too late anyway.
This whole release is noting but a steaming pile of frustration.
Glad the bots are getting theirs

The Spyopera actually looks better with my CZ 75 PCR with the rosewood grips, but since there is no rail on that one, there is no light.

Re: Thumb ramp jimping poll
Since my first spydie had no jimping (Delica 3 PS sabre ground), I dont really care about jimping.
Dont really miss it on that knife or my Spyopera, but I also dont mind it on my PM2s, Para 3s, Carribean, Shaman, Dragonfly 4 or my Delica 4.

Re: Spyderco/flashlight match-up.....
https://i.imgur.com/OqrWbYT.jpg Julia, Throw a 14500 Li ion in that i5t and it will output 1,000 lumens. You will lose the ability to step the output with the Li ion though. It also voids the warranty, but since I have 3 of them from combo purchases, I dont mind running one hot (and it does run hot!)
