Re: Mini Yojimbo Prototype ?
I’m very excited to see the mini P’kal. I have been eyeing a Fred Perrin baby Bowie for a while. I’m really excited to see a spyderco subway Bowie. What a wonderful addition to the other Fred Perrin designs in the spyderco lineup. I dream of a st nicks (red canvas micarta would be even better) 4V st...

Re: Spyderco Clinch Pick
I will say the mini P’kal is interesting and I think fills a void and although it would probably not be any more popular than the standard P’kal I hope it comes to market for the same reasons they keep the P’kal in production.

Re: Spyderco Clinch Pick
As a little context for my comment, I carry a clinch pick nearly everyday. I carry another folding knife for more mundane tasks and uses. I have numerous spyderco reverses. I own numerous other knives such as the yojimbo, ARK, matriarch, night stick and various other makes and models of knives desig...

Re: Best PM2 in either M390/204P/20CV
From the ones I have, my opinion is that in real world use any difference you’d notice is from a difference in how it’s sharpened. I don’t think there is any legit way for someone to say one batch is meaningfully better than another. I don’t anyone here has a significant sample size of each to make ...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
Did "not shutting up" work to get the model manufactured? Asking for a friend. Note: no matter how fierce looking you make a knife look a knife with a blade that is under 5 to 7 inches in length is NOT a good self defense weapon because most of the organs are 5 to 7 inches under the epide...

Re: SMKW Mystery New Exclusive (Jungle themed)
I’m really turned off by the trend of “mystery” exclusives. I’ve bought a number of exclusives but have passed on everyone one announced in this format. Maybe it builds hype and helps sales, I don’t know. I just know it turns me off.

Re: In search for a reverse knife
The reverse was discontinued a few years back and likely will be hard to come by. It’s not a mode I’ve seen lots of for sale on the secondary market. Shivworks now has a new production model Disciple that is a similar size knife. I haven’t handled one yet. I like P’kal knives and will probably get a...

Re: Other Favorite Knife Brands? At Least 3 or 4 Please?
It used to be ZT but the last handful of years they haven’t made anything that appeals to me. I like my older ZTs though. Esee: great user knives Becker: good users Civivi. They are nicely executing a number of fun designs and really appealing price points Cold steel: I’m not into a lot of their fol...

Re: Knife Joker GITD Jester 20CV!!
I finally caved. I’ve been telling myself I don’t need this. On the other hand, if I’m being honest there are many days where this is probably all the knife I need and I want to try the little knife out. It’s a niche I don’t have filled. I also like 20cv, M390 et al and since it’s basically the pric...

Re: BHQ Lil Native
I’m pretty over exclusives and haven’t purchased any in quite a while. However I like the lil native back lock and wanted to try a comp lock version as I generally like comp locks. I also have a blade HQ shaman that I like that this goes along with nicely. With it only being only slightly more than ...

Re: Rethinking handguns
Statistically, even with law enforcement, not to mention civilians, the average gunfight is sorted out in only two or three rounds. Yes, bad marksmanship and "spray and pray" happen, and those are the anomalies. I'd be one or two rounds is more like it. Statistically you are so incredibly...

Re: Paramilitary 2, a delicate knife?
If I wasn’t going to use a Knife because it cost $150 I wouldn’t buy it in the first place. What is the point of having it if you aren’t going to use it. The PM 2 has a fine tip but I have never broken one and find it nice for certain uses. Anything I thought was too rough of use for the PM I would ...

Re: Knifejoy Exclusive...Slysz Bowie??!!
I just looked at more pics of the knife joy version. Compared to the original the blade finish on the knife joy looks terrible in my opinion. I realize looks are subjective but this is a total down grade to me.

Re: Knifejoy Exclusive...Slysz Bowie??!!
I find the blue to be ugly personally. I think this looks like a less attractive version all around and I’d I would never have paid $400 for the original and so I’m certainly not going to for this. It is amazing what FOMO marketing and hype can do. People didn’t want anything to do with them when th...

I hope they had the good sense to do an extremely large run. At any kind of reasonable price even a large run will sell out quickly.

Re: How Do Your Factory Seconds Look?
Checked my Parata, it does not have the stop pin. When I first got it, it was very stiff opening. It is starting to wear in and is much improved on that front already.

Re: How Do Your Factory Seconds Look?
I got my first order two maxamet PM3s. I only intended to buy one but when I finally got the page to load it then had two and I didn’t dare try and adjust it. I will give one of them to a family member. I bought them thinking the types of issues we had heard about when the were first making knives i...

Re: Recs for Self Defense while running/biking?
Totally depends on the circumstances. I think understanding when one versus the other might be preferable necessitates an understanding of terminal ballistics and how wounding with a knife works. Not even all knives are the same so just saying a knife is even overly simplistic. If I was surprise att...
