Re: How Do Your Factory Seconds Look?

Checked my Parata, it does not have the stop pin. When I first got it, it was very stiff opening. It is starting to wear in and is much improved on that front already.

Interesting about the Parata. I’ll have to check mine later today.

Re: How Do Your Factory Seconds Look?

I got my first order two maxamet PM3s. I only intended to buy one but when I finally got the page to load it then had two and I didn’t dare try and adjust it. I will give one of them to a family member. I bought them thinking the types of issues we had heard about when the were first making knives i...

Re: Recs for Self Defense while running/biking?

Totally depends on the circumstances. I think understanding when one versus the other might be preferable necessitates an understanding of terminal ballistics and how wounding with a knife works. Not even all knives are the same so just saying a knife is even overly simplistic. If I was surprise att...

Re: Recs for Self Defense while running/biking?

Looking at your request, BluetypeII and Sumdumguy gave you the best option: Unless you have physical strength to get into a knife fight, you need a small lightweight pistol/revolver, and that's about it. Pistols and knives are two defense tools for different circumstances and applications. One is n...

Re: Recs for Self Defense while running/biking?

Surprised no one has mentioned the ARK yet. It's small, especially if you can carry 3 inches. Also when running it's more comfortable to clip something to your waist then having it dangle around your neck, that gets tiresome within a few seconds. Maybe a Swick with a clip for carrying inside the wa...

Re: Tanto PM2 Support Thread

Am I the only one who didn't get the dlc cause I thought satin was coming soon. I asked bhq and they seem to confirm its a thing but wouldn't really confirm it was a thing. A dlc bird in the hand is worthy two satin birds in the bush. That’s why I bought the DLC even though I might have chosen a sa...

Re: Vanax PM2 Lets Do This!!!

The particular combination proffered doesn’t appeal to me at all, and I buy a lot of PM2s and other spydercos. At some point a vanax spyderco could be cool. Not sure a PM2 is where I’d like to see it though. I buy knives to use not post pics of online or keep in a pelican case. I’m not knocking folk...

Re: Who else wants a SE Lil'Matriarch Salt in H1 ?!

I have a matriarch. I have a serrated H1 pacific salt that I have been carrying more often than anything else lately. I would be interested in a serrated lil matriarch. As to steel. I’d leave it to the expert but I have been happy with my Serrated H1. The ease of maintenance on the Pac Salt is a big...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

I’m curious why one would specifically want pinned construction over screws. I’m inclined to prefer screws but I’m always open to being educated or trying to understand a differing point of view.

Re: River's Edge PM2

I got a tracking number saying it’s in pre shipment. I don’t know if I will really get it or not. I will say if not getting a special color of knife when you own other knives, probably if the same model, is enough to get you worked up and angry you should instead be insanely grateful for the wonder ...

I got mine to be a user, but I won’t lie if someone was standing in front of me with $335 and wanted it that badly I’d be tempted. I already have another M390 user PM2 after all.

Re: River's Edge PM2

I feel like the universes wanted me to get one. I came out of long morning meetings just happened to check Instagram right as they announced it was live and got one. I like the PM 2 and the color and am interested in the steel and the how the coating holds up. I should stop buying PM2s and broaden m...

Re: Who of you buys only Spyderco, no other brand knives?

I have more spydercos than anything else by a pretty good margin. I might have more of them than all other brands combined, but I’d have to do a count (but doing that can lead to blasphemous thoughts like “Maybe I own too many knives” or “I shouldn’t buy anymore”). However, I own and regularly use o...

Re: Does S110V actually chip a lot or are people just not using their knives right?

My manix 2 lw chipped under what I considered pretty light use with the factor edge. After sharpening it I haven’t had any issues. I had the same experience with my ZDP dragonfly. I honestly can’t say either knife sees real hard use but in the types of cutting I do with a folding lw knife I haven’t ...

Re: The Para 3 LW: Features or “Bugs”?

I have both in M390. I like them both. I carry the LW more often. Purely as a cutting tool it’s a great knife. From a sheer function standpoint it’s probably one of the best pocket knives I own for what I actually do with a folding pocket knife. I could be pretty happy with either version but if I w...

Re: St Nicks Native 5 4V Lightweight

I received mine today. It's definitely the most stiff Native 5 LW I've had. Not a complaint. Just an observation. I've loosened the pivot a little and put a drop of oil where the lock bar rides. Helped a little but it a ways to go. I'll take it apart if necessary to see what's up. I'll use it as is...
