Re: Which Lil Native?
To be honest, Lil Native with lockback feels much better in my hand. The spoon clip does not create hot spots as the wire clip does and your thumb can rest on a flat surface due to the closed-back design of lockback folders, which is more comfortable than putting your thumb on the spines of two piec...

Re: So what's your top 3 favorite steels? and why?
LC200N: It makes a knife almost perfectly corrosion resistant and it also has very good edge retention and toughness. The best choice for kitchen knives in my eyes. CTS-XHP: Reasonably priced and excellent in almost every aspect. One of the best choices for small EDC folders. VG-10: For entry level ...

Re: Mr. Lester DeAsis passes
Benchmade and Spyderco are my two most favorite knife brands. I don't think I could live happily without any of these two.

Re: Chaparral LW vs. (new) BM Mini Bugout
This is a very interesting comparison. I have many Chaparrals in different configurations and I'm waiting for the mini Bugout. In my eyes, mini bugout will not be better than or even close to Chaparral LW in terms of cutting performance and it won't feel as sturdy as Chaparral LW. But mini bugout wi...

Hi VooDooChild, I agree and that's why I said it's not good or bad. The world may need an idea for the betterment of humanity. I'm not complaining, just gathering opinions. There are many countries like China that do not think an idea should be anything but public from the git-go. The USA is one of...

Re: Which steel has impressed you lately?
CTS-XHP.
I've had knives with CTS-XHP for a very long time, but I've never put any extensive use on them. During the past few months, what I carried and used the most was Spyderco Chaparral LW with CTS-XHP, which really impressed me a lot. It has already become one of my all-time favorites.

Re: Who would like to see more 2mm thick blades?
I never experienced any 2mm thick blade until I got my first Chaparral. Now I've become more and more addicted to thin blades. Thicker blades do make people feel safe because they are stronger. But considering what most people use their knives for, a 2mm thick blade is more than just enough.

Re: Discussion: What do you think is the best size for an EDC folder?
This varies for me. Mostly it ranges between Delica size at the small end and Military size at the large end. If I had to choose just one size it would be 3.5” blade, no choil, in a 4.25” handle. Why no choil? I personally consider forward finger choil as one of the best designs from Spyderco becau...

In the US, if you carry a blade larger than what's permitted by the law, what will happen? Is it possible for a policeman to randomly check your pocket?

My four-screwed Chapparal CF was produced in July, 2019. There are letters "GS" printed on the box. So I'm sure this change was made during the first half of 2019.

There was a woman whose house was broken into in a home invasion, and the guy tried to sexually assault her. She ended up stabbing him to death in self-defense. Surprisingly, the news story actually showed photos of the woman and the knife she used. First off, she appeared to be a heavy-set middle-...

Re: How many screws can be seen on your CF/G10 laminated Chaparral?
I believe they did change it to the 4 screws on the cf models. I have the 2 screw version but mine is one of the early models in S30V. Yes, I remember a thread about it not to long ago. They now look like the one pictured on KC. I'm glad I have the previous style with two screws exposed. https://ww...

How many screws can be seen on your CF/G10 laminated Chaparral?
Hi there. Recently I got a CF/G10 laminated Chaparral from an autorized dealer. Everything on this knife is perfect but I find something strange. On my CF Chaparral, I can see four screw heads exposed from the handle scales, which are the pivot screw, the pocket-clip screw and other two in between. ...
