Re: What has become of Bladeforums?

Well, being old, somewhat mentaly challenged, but also blessed by having very deep pockets, I would like to add nothing to what may be a very dead end subject.

Re: New Members

Ok, my opinion time: I have been a member of many, many forums over many years. I've been here a very short time and only joined because I've spent $1000+ on Spyderco knives and thought I should check it out. Very disappointing. Friendly...I don't think so. In fact almost, if any, response to a new ...

Re: Does anyone here ride motorcycles?!?

I rode enduro (endurance racing) for many years here on the east coast. In case you aren't familiar it is a minimum of 100 miles off road in the worst available conditions maintaining a speed of 24 mph. Sounds easy but it will kill you. I competed into the super senior class of over 50 and my body f...

Re: The Future of Mail Delivery: Cluster Box Units

I grew up in the farm country of the mid west. There was no mail delivery to a residence, period. You hoped on your bike, horse, what have you and went to your post office. That (in my case) was 6 miles away and my job to visit 6 days a week for 10 years.

Re: What Other People Think

As a businesss owner with many long term business clients it was very important what was thought of me and our operation. A great deal of mutual trust and reputation was involved. I guess the jist of this is that I've always liked people and in turn I like to be liked as well.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

I own several Endura's as well as a Kapara. I wouldn't even put them in the same ballpark, on any level. The Kapara is vastly superior. At least in my ballywick.

Re: Who of you buys only Spyderco, no other brand knives?

No question that I’m a big fan of spyderco, but life is too short and there are so many great knives. I made fixed blades for hunting and bush craft since the 50’s so I wouldn’t buy them from anyone. Most of my kitchen knives were purchased and I really no nothing about the spyderco kitchen models, ...

Kizer Wakulla in S35VN and titanium. An excellent knife with fit and finish to match just about anything I'm familiar with.

It's hilarious that you all are pushing super steels to someone who says they only cut tape and is just okay at sharpening. 420HC would suffice.
I agree.

Re: Buttermilk biscuits

1cup milk and 1tablespoon white vinegar. Mix and let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes. Now you need some sausage gravy for those biscuits.

Re: Need kitchen knife recommendations!

Even though you don't seem to like Global I think they are very well made and fit the bill for most home kitchens. I own several and they are used by my wife and I stick to the pieces I made over the years. I am very partial to the performance of high carbon, however most people would not appreciate...

Re: Para 3 LW slippery

I can't imagine what might be wrong if you have done all of the above. I would contact Spyderco and send the thing back to them. Ask them to fix or replace. If nothing happens post it on here, but if it does also post to let us know what happpens..

Just stopped at the dock and the farm today. Tonight is Blue Claws, little neck steamers, white corn, tomatoes, and blueberry cobbler for desert. Everything harvested within 5 minutes of my house.

Resilience. A true sleeper with tons of ability. I have knives in the 2-$300 range where in many situations I would choose the resilience . A very good knife.
