Re: Possible REC Avocado Native 5 Release

My Native 5 has arrived and it's a beauty. Here's the whole family (that I have. Maybe there's some I'm missing?)

Mine just showed up, my first Native 5. Fedex mangled the box, but the knife is just fine, sharp and centered.

She's a beauty. I get mine soon... getting to france takes a bit more time. I'll post a family photo once it arrives.

I’ve now received trusted vouches for Cyclaire.
seems like if it were affiliated (officially, legally) with Spyderco, there would be a link to it from the spyderco website.

If not, they may still be "reputable", but I think not "official".

Re: Great news ! Techno 3 is out !!!

It is certainly not a recommandation but when the feels too light for my taste (GB2, Domino, Dice, Spydieched), i enlarge the detent hole in the blade.

I do it by hand with a micro hand drill and carbide bit ranging from 1.1 to 2.1mm. Just need to find the original diameter of the hole and go ...

Re: Great news ! Techno 3 is out !!!

Sounds like it just needs some breaking in.

Beautiful knife.

Give it a couple drops of oil.

Tried breaking it in a bit more, tried more oil last night as well. flipped it a ton more, got frustrated. Today I disassembled it, cleaned it well, reapplied oil, reassembled it, little to no ...

Re: Official knife comparison pic thread!

I'd love to see some comparison pics of the Techno 3. Chaparral, Delica, Para 3, any of the common models in that general size range. Bonus points for a Vrango, though!

I'm also curious about the handle thickness, it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere.

I don't have the chap or delica, but here ...

Give it a couple drops of oil.
I'll give it a shot.

Edited to add: it may have helped a tiny bit but not quite enough. It's still hard to get the flipper to hit hard enough to open all the way.

Re: Great news ! Techno 3 is out !!!

I finally got one, and while I love, love, LOVE the design, I feel the execution or QC lacks a bit (I'm not sure which tbh) - mine has anemic flipping action as well, like someone else mentioned earlier. I'm kinda bummed about it, although it doesn't really impact its performance. It's a cutting ...

Have a look at The Deacon's Spydiewiki ( http://www.spydiewiki.com/index.php?title=SKU ). Just to keep the record straight, Spydiewiki is a wonderful resource, but I'm only one of the many contributors there, and a relatively minor one at that.

Another group of letters on boxes for Spyderco ...

Got myself some D2 socks! They’re tough as nails, but not so great in the wash—they tend to rust my patience.
