Re: Native Chief Lightweight!!!

I just checked LynchNW, their Spyderco Long Clip is listed as being compatible with the Native Chief LW, as well as several other FRN models, including the Delica FRN. in their pics, the point of contact lands in the center of the Delica's oval pad. If you have one handy, compare the Delica to your ...

Re: Native Chief Lightweight!!!

I just rechecked the stick image of the Spy27 NC on BHQ, I see what you mean about the clip alignment. It looks like they put a clip from a Native 5 on it... WTH? Thanks for bringing up this issue, I'll wait and see if they get the clip issues ironed out before I put in a pre-order. I never would've...

Re: Native Chief Lightweight!!!

Got my $100 Native Chief LW from the MAPnesty sale this week. I've wanted a Chief since the prototype was first shown off at a show like 10 years ago. The price was certainly right. So pretty excited when I got the package today... but... Ok first off the pivot is extremely stiff. I had to two hand...

Re: Native Chief Lightweight!!!

I’m getting the idea a lot of people, like me, are waiting for the SPY27…. Could this be a wake up call for Eric to order more SPY27? 😄 Same here. If there was a pre-order for SE Spy27 I'd already have my order in. I'm tempted to order the SE Salt MC but I've been wanting to try Spy27 for a while n...

Re: Steels and spyderedge

When it comes to serrations I still believe that Spyderco is King. But I tend to have differing viewpoints when it comes to the blade steels which are ideal for full SE blades. Over the years I've personally discovered that many of the blade steels that perform well in full SE are for the most part...

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

Still this one https://i.imgur.com/lRWqOKl.jpg I've got a small, plain Sebenza 21 that was my lone edc for a several years, love that knife. I've always liked the Box Elder inlays, and especially the polished scales. I wish they'd offer the plain model with polished scales as an option. Someday I'l...

Re: Steels and spyderedge

Hey Marius, Thanx for the thread. Don't how I missed it back then, but I'm on it now. Great discussion. Hi Riclaw, Thanx for bumping it up. I'm with David in that I would like all of the serrations ground the same, but that's been much harder to do that one would think, because of the way serration...

Re: What is your favorite Delica variant?

I've always had a weak spot for Wharncliffe blades and my k390 PM2 quickly became my go to edc. When I saw the k390 Wharncliffe D4 it was a no brainer, so much so that when I saw it on the Discontinued List, I bought a second one to squirrel away just in case. That led to ordering the matching Drago...

Re: Any cat lovers?

All such beautiful cats. About 3 years ago we had this adorable little girl show up when we were out on the porch. She immediately hopped in my lap and let me, all of us pet her for hours. We started feeding her and a few days later, she disappeared again. The following year, she did the same thing:...

Re: 2024 Official Discontinued List

Lmao. The last time I posted in this thread, August 18, I had picked up a Sage 5 CF and a Chap CF and called it done. I've since added a wharnie K390 Delica and Endela and a medium grit benchstone. Liking the Endela so much I'm wondering if I need anymore K390 wharncliffes before they start getting...

All three bench stones will be discontinued? Sad to hear. Will there be follow-up stones? Or just the Sharpmaker?
Now I've got to go read through the list again, hopefully the Double Stuff isn't on it, I like those for quick touch ups in the woods.

Re: Spyderco Swap!

I have a bunch of pm2 and a few random spydies Id post but I have no way to receive the cash. No PayPal anymore since they changed policy. I wasn't aware a policy change. I assume they're opposed to knives now? edit: I just read the tax related posts, I understand now. I've got a G-10 S110V Manix 2...

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

About the only non Spyderco knives I carry anymore are a small, plain Sebenza 21 I bought new in 2014 and occasionally a Pro-Tech SBR (jade G-10/S45VN). The Sebenza was the only knife I carried from the day I got it until the last year or two when I really started getting into Spyderco. Now it feels...

Re: 2024 Official Discontinued List

I looked at the Rockjumper while looking through the discontinued models, it reminds me of a D4 Wharncliffe blade with the handle profile of a Stretch 2. Depending on how it fits your hand, it appears like it'd be a solid, comfortable knife for prolonged use. If there weren't so many other models on...

Re: 2024 Official Discontinued List

I'm curious to see how practical the Endura WC will be. It should be excellent as a cardboard destroyer, even more so than the Delica and Endela. It looks a bit odd though. 🙂 I understand. I've been debating that Endura myself lately. It's bordering on too large for an edc for my preferences. I usu...

Re: 2024 Official Discontinued List

I was very late to the wharncliffe party. I got a Delica K390 WC a year ago, and only recently discovered how well that blade shape and steel combo performed as a utility/work knife. I never tried any of the Salt 2 WC's or K390 in serrated edges either, and always assumed there would be many opport...

Re: 2024 Official Discontinued List

Along with the Wharncliffe Endela I ordered this morning, I've got: Wharncliffe DF2 Wharncliffe D4 (x2) SE P4 I was hoping to pick up a Wharncliffe Endura 4 as well but I bought a 2017 Ford F-150 FX4 back in May and it's cramping my knife budget. Hopefully stock levels won't disappear before I grab ...

Re: 2024 Official Discontinued List

I noticed this morning, the K390 Wharncliffe Endela is back in stock at BHQ for $119.99, also in stock at GPKnives for $106.95. I grabbed one to go with my other K390's. I really hope that steel isn't disappearing from the lineup, it's such an outstanding performer.

Re: 2024 Official Discontinued List

oh, and stretch 2 xl salt in magnacut... I was just thinking the other day, I'd love to see a S2XL SE in Magnacut. That'd be very close to my idea of a perfect outdoors folder. Even better if it came with micarta scales. Edit: Or, a Military 2 in fully serrated Magnacut... with micarta scales (pref...

Re: 2024 Official Discontinued List

Wow, that seems like a big list. Lots of wharncliffes including my beloved K390 Delica wharncliffe. :'( That's what I thought too. I'd originally planned on getting the k390 Wharncliffe Endela and Endura to go with my matching Delica and DF but I ordered a second D4 k390 Wharncliffe to squirrel awa...
