Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

5CC42FF6-1FCE-4D5E-8BC9-3FC5F60A3EE4.jpeg This Dragonfly has a permanent spot in the pocket 7 days a week. Occasionally I will pair it with something larger depending on that days projects, Its just a kick butt little knife. That’s a serious statement. Have you tried the hawkbill model or is there ...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

How do you feel the Endelas more "mellow" serrations in an a ffg blade compare to the more aggressive in sabre hollow of the Pac Salt so far? I love the blade. I like FFG and I already love serrations so of course it’s a winning combination for me. Honestly I prefer the serrations on my byrd hawkbi...

Re: S110V question

Why do people highly polish steels like s90v and s110v? they are chock full of carbides and those carbides are what do the cutting (mostly). which is why an s90v edge that wont shave will still slice most any material well. those carbides are like saw teeth and just seperate the material, but theyr...

Re: S110V question

I agree, also I like a nice toothy edge on s110v, I use an Atoma 400 grit diamond stone and that’s as far as I’ll go with it.

Re: Give The Spyderedge A Chance Thread

There's no telling how many hundreds of zip ties I've cut against a flat surface when that was the only option. You run into it all the time in an industrial setting. I guess if you haven't done it, or needed to do it, it just doesn't exist as a "realistic cutting task" ? I've given the spyderedge ...

when you're moving, your spyderedge gets a steady diet of cardboard. looks like he still has a little in his teeth.

That’s my favorite package right there... but I got to spend some time with the SE endela.

Re: Give The Spyderedge A Chance Thread

^I think you guys are arguing over meaningless details. I can cut anything on a cutting board with a serrated knife without repositioning the material. What does it matter whether or not it is a "true push cut" with absolutely zero horizontal motion? Is that something that has any relevance whatsoe...

Re: Give The Spyderedge A Chance Thread

I'm just confused at some comments saying se is at least as good as pe for everything, when there's some things impossible for it to do, like complete a push cut against a flat surface for instance. Like push cutting against a cutting board? Definitely not impossible when it can push cut receipt pa...

Re: Give The Spyderedge A Chance Thread

Why don't butchers use se ? My mentor whose been a professional taxidermist for 40 years uses FFG serrated blades (usually in the form of victorinox kitchen utility knives) and sharpens then until there’s almost no blade left. I’ll have to take a picture some time. He’s been a Life long fisher and ...

Re: Give The Spyderedge A Chance Thread

I’m not saying it can’t, I’m just saying I don’t... just something I don’t spend time doing I'd even fully agree that it's not ideal, it's definitely an area I'd choose PE. It's just one of the arguments that a lot of people make against SE that is so situational that it's really a weak argument IM...

I'll take this in a Military with blacked out liners. 2 actually. :D Are they releasing a Military version? dear sweet 8lb. 6oz. baby Jesus I sure hope so There are no new models announced, but they obviously have a VERY popular combo here so I would be shocked if this didn't turn into a "family". ...
