Re: Wharncliffe Para Military 2 CUTLERY SHOPPE EXCLUSIVE

Yet, historically... ...I'm from the deep south of the US. I like to eat boiled peanuts , fried pork rinds, and sweet onions . Other southerners think I'm weird because I don't like raw tomatoes . But I also like sushi, sashimi , and single malt Scotch. I embraced my weirdness long ago. Lol we’re p...

Admittedly not for me, but it’s a neat celebration of Spyderco’s heritage, so I’m all for it!

I kinda like Abel Reels collaborations. They are beautiful in my opinion... https://i0.wp.com/flylordsmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/DSC8857.jpg?fit=5759%2C3839&ssl=1 and the craftsmanship that goes in to them is unique and worthy of respect. https://i0-wp-com.cdn.ampproject.org/i/s/i0.wp.com/fl...

Re: Poll What’s your Mule future

To me, picking “only the ones I want” means buying steels I find particularly interesting and want to test (not necessarily steels I want to carry).
I’m in it for the knowledge and experience more than, but not the exclusion of, finding my ideal edc.

Re: Domino 2?

I think the Domino is a great design. I really appreciate the way Eric handled the flipper tab and choil. In my opinion, there is no other knife on the market that does the Flipper/Choil double feature better (coming from someone who doesn’t always prefer either of those two things). While I don’t o...

Re: First Wharncliffe ... been thinking about these for a while

I don't have anything to add to the points made above. I just want to say that wharnies are cool, and if Spyderco could kindly consider bringing back the Centofante IV wharncliffe. I didn't even know they existed until long after they were discontinued. Same for me. I love Centofante’s designs very...

Eric is live talking knives right now in case you want to tune in or check the vod when it’s all over. He’s mentioned a lot of neat stuff!

Re: Sage 5 LW in alternate steels?

If the Sage 5 LW is intended to get more variations, I’d like to add that I think Rex121, Z-max (equivalent to Rex86), or Rex 45 would make great performers in the Sage’s design and thin BTE geometry! I also really like some of the other member’s suggestions of earth tone FRN colors (they look great...

Re: Wharncliffe Para Military 2 CUTLERY SHOPPE EXCLUSIVE

Other than a slight difference in blade shape, I wonder what function this knife offers in actual use that the Yojumbo doesn't? A pointy, full flat grind , wharncliffe with a choil is a unique combination of traits in the current lineup as far as I know! ...and I’d wager the tip to be stronger than...

Re: Exclusive Questions for Sal, Kristy, or Michael Janich

My guess - Spyderco is now transitioning from S30V for their regular production knives and is making this steel available to dealers and distributors; Spyderco will likely do/or have option to do same knives as regular production knives, but in SPY27. Can these two steels exist in the line-up side ...

Re: Wharncliffe Para Military 2 CUTLERY SHOPPE EXCLUSIVE

I actually quite like the shape of the blade on this Wharncliffe! The spine isn’t a continuous curve like the Sekis and is most similar to the Canis in profile. The less round shape lessens the knife’s closed height. A pointy, full flat grind, wharncliffe with a choil is a unique combination of trai...

Re: Try this at home. New sharpening method.

I saw the vid earlier and think it’s a really interesting Idea which I would like to try in the future. The single bevel hollow grind sounds really interesting, Sal! I recall a thread where you were gauging interest in a version of the Yojimbo with the grind? It reminds me of the Yakutian knives wit...

Re: I mean no dis Respect, but

Unfortunately my Bowie is in storage, so I don’t have the opportunity to take pics of it yet. I inherited it from my Great Uncle who served in the Korean War and I believe in Vietnam as well (I was young when he passed). The knife has no makers mark, but is likely from Mexico far as I can tell. Has ...

Re: I mean no dis Respect, but

I think the function of some parts of any knife design is often up to the user. My own Bowie has a ricasso I use for a choil and to pull it out of wood it’s stuck in. I’ll have to grab some pictures of it! Very similar to Sal’s design in concept. I’d probably really enjoy the Respect if I had one. H...

To be honest, I couldn’t care less about that (doesn’t bother me aesthetically), but I am really interested to hear what else you think about it! Is is comfortable to you? Have you used it at all yet?... and if so, did it cut well? Stuff like that. Just want to know personally because there isn’t a ...

Re: Police 4 K390 LW is shipping to dealers

Eventually, when I get one, I’ll probably do something similar to Lance and give mine a swedge. That’s what I miss most from the past Polices.
