Re: Shaman sprints in stainless?

Although, with my addiction to the Shaman platform as a whole I can't say for sure that I wouldn't buy one just because... but K390, now that will be magnaflorious! :D I'm not addicted to the Shaman platform, but I'm pretty much addicted to K390, so I'd definitely buy a K390 Shaman. Not sure how mu...

Re: Shaman sprints in stainless?

I think the Shaman platform kind of asks for a high toughness steel. I'd love to see a 3v Shaman, for example. I think the most interesting stainless shaman would be H1 and SE. That would be a very unique tool. Super thick and tough, able to take any amount of abuse or neglect, very overbuilt--it'd...

Re: Manix 2 LW combo edge?

I have 2 of this variant. According to Spydiewiki, C101PSBL2 was only in production from 2012-2013. C101PSBL2 Translucent blue FRCP PS CTS-BD1 2012-2013 124.95$ (2013) http://www.spydiewiki.com/index.php?title=C101_Manix_80mm Please correct me if I'm wrong. Nope, you're spot on, that's the same par...

Re: Manix 2 LW combo edge?

I think the one you are looking for is the C101PSBL2, they are not super hard to find...

Now, a C101GS2, the fully serrated S30V, that's a bugger to find! ;)

Re: What Is Your Favorite Go-To Spyderco?

"Go-To" is a bit of a vague term, if we're talking what's carried most (EDC) -- my secondary/backup EDC that I carry pretty much every single day as of late is my SE hawkbill -- I like more and more each day I use it, I'm learning new uses for both SE blades as well as hawkbill blades at the same ti...

Re: What Are the Pros/Cons for Rex and Maxamet?

If you want the longest lasting edge, Maxamet is the way to go. Nothing else in current production knives (from any manufacturer) really comes close. Rex 45 (aside, 'Rex' is a poor description--when I first read this post I thought it was a discussion of Rex 121 v Maxamet) won't hold an edge as lon...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Just finished my 3rd Manix project today & I'm really happy with the results -- so this will probably be my primary EDC for a bit . . . https://i.imgur.com/omjLh4F.jpg https://i.imgur.com/BaDU9Ac.jpg :) Are those the Putman scales? If so, wait until you start breaking them in...awesome scales!! Lov...

Re: Canis Love...will there be Sprint runs?

This is just my WAG, but I think if it sells reasonably well there will be at least one sprint, there are what 3 sprints of the Yojimbo, and I think this model will appeal to the same audience... I have been rather surprised how much shade this knife has been getting, it's on my to-buy short list fo...

Re: S90V exclusives?

They exist, on the secondary market the PM2/Para3 are in the ~300 range, and the S90V/154 w/CG Manix2 can be found for 200-220 fairly easily, and the plain s90v/CF is around 300, they are expensive, but they aren't hard to find. I've been really considering the Manix2 w/CF and S90v/154 -- I have the...

There's a lot not out yet, keep an eye on the forum The rex 45 shaman, lil native, and manix 2 lw are still waiting And the Native Chief, probably the only thing from #4 that I REALLY want, well, the Lil' Native too, just not quite as badly... Given Larins assertion that chemically CruWear & Z-Wear...

Re: Spyderco Collectors Club - Model Specific

[+1] It's an interesting idea for sure, not one I've heard before... I dare say that if I were able to sign up for the Shaman & Manix family, providing me every single newly released variant of each, I would sign up today, without question. A slight tweak of the idea that comes to mind could be sign...
