Re: FRN Police 4

I’m moving the Military to the top of my “next buy” list and waiting for the P4 LW to come out with SE and/or Salt version. If I didn’t already have a Police stainless PE I would jump on the new P4. It looks like a fantastic value and design but just not filling any perceived holes in my herd of kni...

Re: Most Ideal PE Or Spyderedge

Count me in the SE convert crowd. I think it was Evil D that convinced me by his postings to try the Endura Wharncliffe SE. Very powerful cutter yet handles slicing tomatoes and cheese just fine. The Wharncliffe blade shape seems to help me dig into the rope or material rather than slipping off it. ...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

After buying a few Spydercos last year I find that I mostly carry the PM2 S35VN and the Endura SE Wharncliffe depending on what I am doing. During the rainy winter working outdoors I was often carrying my Pacific Salt SE. I have a PM3 S35VN but the blade seems too stubby. The PM2 feels like the perf...

Re: Province - First Impressions.

I just came across this thread. Your photos make the Province look much better than the advertising pics. I passed on it based on those initial pics. But seeing yours in action it looks beautiful and practical. I want! Thx for a great post!!

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

Finally getting around to ordering a Wharncliffe Endura, full serrated. I have a Pacific Salt which is my current favorite. So I want another similar but different knife for EDC in my work pants. Was hoping the Police FRN would be out by now in SE; nope. So I am going to see what a serrated VG-10 bl...

Re: FRN Police 4

Many good ideas on the Police 4 FRN!!

Here are my wants in top down priority:
1) Full serrated. (Would buy it in a heartbeat!!)
2) LC200N Salt aka Beach Patrol
3) Dark green or O.D., or else a dyeable lighter color such as yellow or desert tan or sand FRN scales
4) Black DLC blade coating

Re: Future of the Mule Team Project

I like the idea of the Mules, but I think the idea of using the exact same grind for all them skews the results in favor of those steels best suited to the standard grind (whatever ever it is/will be). I know this is done to save costs as well as provide a standard for comparison, but you can miss o...

Re: Which Steel In you’re experience is your favorite for Spydie Edges?

I voted H1 mainly because it is the only SpyderEdge I have. But also as Vivi says, H1 in SE is a super steel. I was a confirmed anti-SE until reading his praise for it. I was skeptical of a soft steel AND of SE. Got a Salt 2 and Pacific Salt. The PE point rolls easily and so frequently have to hone ...

Haha! So true. As soon as the LW comes out in SE, I am jumping on it!

Re: Wow Pacific Salt is being discontinued.

I hope there is market support for both H1 SaberSE and LC200N FFG PE and SE. I really like my H1 SE and may have to get a spare just in case. I have not found anything lacking in it. After some sharpening to smooth the points it is impressive in what it can do. Slices soft tomatoes and even cheddar ...

Re: Manix v Manix XL v PM2

Can’t comment on the Manix thought it tempts me. I have a PM2 (my first recent Spyderco) and a Pacific Salt (based on the Endura 3). The PM2 compression lock makes opening and closing significantly easier than the back lock. My experience anyway. BUT, it is definitely right handed only. I can flick ...

Re: Spyderco Models That Deserved To Be Offered In SE

I am really hoping the new Police FRN comes out eventually in SE, as well as the Siren. I think any model with long blades with shallow belly, no belly like a Wharncliffe, or hawkbill lend themselves to a serrated edge. Also any Salt model, like the Siren deserves to be available in SE.

Re: oH tHe TiP iS ToO FrAGilE

I really like my pointy Police Stainless. However, given the common, frequent misuse of knives for prying, why not a main line model with a blunt pry tip like some dive knives? Call it the FUDD or Daryl or something. Maybe a version of the Delica/Endura? Or call it the Archimedes!

Re: Police 4 LW

I’m hoping this will be offered soon in VG-10 FFG SE, too. I have a Police Stainless plain edge. So it would be nice to get SE in the new Police FRN. Maybe down the road a LC200N PE or H1 SE—Police Salt? Guard Salt?

9BBCDA6E-424C-4CC1-B6D2-1F4F67730EDB.jpeg Pacific Salt. I’ve been trying it out cutting various materials. After using some strokes on both sides of blade on Sharpmaker white rods the serrations are smoother and don’t grab so much but slice e trembly well. One item that impressed me was not for its...
