Re: Sal - Plans re: Mantra 4?
Hi Aaron, That's Eric's call. I don't know that he has plans to do so at this time. sal Thanks for the reply! I also think it’s very cool that you’ve passed the torch so well, I imagine that must be hard to do but the company’s clearly in good hands. Think you could show Eric this thread so he know...

I knew that’d be controversial but honestly I think it’s pretty **** important and worth making an issue of/being obnoxious about.

Re: How do I get rid of lock stick?
Sorry for the thread necromancy, but I just received a new Mantra 2, and the lockstick is rediculously strong. It's bad enough that the knife is unpleasant to operate. What's the cure aside from sending it back to the mother ship? Should I try to polish the contact points with a dremel? Knife in qu...

Sal - Plans re: Mantra 4?
Hi Sal, With the first two mantra models being discontinued, I was wondering if you had any plans for a new one. I just picked up a Mantra 2 on sale and absolutely love it, and had some thoughts... -the whole design and shape is incredible for a variety of reasons, I’d love to see an update on it wi...

Re: To M4 or not to M4...
M4 is by far my favorite steel, but I haven’t had the chance to test Rex45 yet. Really looking forward to the rumored shaman sprint.

Re: So what's your top 3 favorite steels? and why?
M4 is hands down my favorite. Easy to sharpen, performs incredible well... I just freaking love it. After that it’s harder to say but probably cruwear and s35vn. I had a surprisingly hard time sharpening cruwear at first considering the hype, but I’m getting used to it. And s35vn is always easy and ...

Re: cruwear dragonfly, brouwer and lil native
I really wanna get my hands on a good lil native sprint ever since missing the 4v run... the model appeals to me but s30v just doesn’t, I’d love a cruwear version.

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places
Knifecenter’s clearance sale is pretty crazy right now, I just ordered a Mantra 2 (I aaaaalwaaaaays want more M4) for $120. Saw some good deals on discontinued items over at BHQ too, but not $70-off-M4-and-titanium-good.

Thoughts on elmax?
Hey all, After seeing rumors about an elmax exclusive in a different thread, I’m trying to figure out whether it’s a steel I need to pick up. I’ve never used or sharpened it. Steels I’ve used and sharpened, for the sake of comparison, include the usual budget crap, S35vn, M390/20cv, s110v, Cruwear, ...

Re: Cruwear ?
I actually find it much more difficult than M4 when it comes to burr removal, but I might just need more time and experience with it.

Re: Suggestion on how to greatly improve the Manix 2
I absolutely LOVE all the jimping on the manix (I own 3, which is more than any other model). Although I’m all for them making a jimping-free sprint or something if there are folks out there who want it.

Re: Problem sharpening a Mannix 154CM
It’s strange to think that your sharpener only goes up to 24, which is definitely on the thin side... sorry if this is a stupid question, but since I don’t know much about you or your level of knowledge: what you read about spyderco sharpening to 30 degrees is the inclusive angle, meaning it’s actua...

Re: Shipping of internal parts
Hey, Sal! I’m new on here and love how involved you are, it’s awesome. Since this is being necro’d... For many, taking apart and working on their knives is a major part of the hobby. Also, a lot of these knives take quite a beating. For those two reasons, I feel really strongly that every manufactur...
