Re: The Astute
It could be a new clip pattern for the Atute, which Spyderco could still use on future models of this size.

Re: The Astute
Isn't the hole in the clip just so you can access the pivot screw if you carry right hand tip down?

Re: Your Favorite Slysz Design And Why
My favorite is the Spydiechef because --being a Salt-- it seems like the most low-maintenance design among the choices.

Re: Salt color differences
It's hard to see from the photo, but the yellow on the Manix 2 is just a wee bit lighter than on the Native 5. Though this may just be because FRN and FRCP absorb dye differently, which is most apparent if you compare the Spy27 Manix 2 and Native 5 LW handles. It could also just be variance between ...

Re: The Astute
I like the Astute. I wish it was made anywhere other than China.
Mine is a bit stiff to open, though it will probably break in with use. Amazing how much cutting edge it has compared to other Spydies of similar size.

Thank you for the detailed photos.
It would indeed be great if the 15V Microjimbo is regular production. It'll give folks like me who live on the other side of the globe and have slow Internet connections a chance to use this steel.

You're welcome, p_atrick. I earnestly hope that this mystery knife will be available by 2026.

Thank you!
I think a lot of folks were scared off because of the exposed cutting edge when the knife is closed. I took some sandpaper and dulled that area. Still a lot of blade left, and I can just sharpen it if I change my mind later on.

Re: Spyderco 50th Anniversary Knife?
I'm wondering if it will be a US-made model since 50 years is the golden anniversary.
Though the Worker would indeed be a good choice and would be a chance to introduce the model to folks (like myself) who have never experienced it firsthand.
