Re: S35vn on the Tenacious...what does it mean?

The tenacious has been a well built knife. Now it comes with a better steel. The question is, 5 years from now will folks wish they bought it. I have seen a few inexpensive yet very usable well built/designed knifes over the years that were offered in a much better steel on a limited basis. A couple...

Re: Dragonfly vs Lil' Native

Between the two, I would go Dragonfly. I prefer a thinner blade on a small knife, and thinner profile. Especially considering I prefer clipless pocket carry most of the time. The thinner blades slice better which is why, as others mentioned, the chaparral is such a great choice. I tend to not use po...

Re: Clips you don’t like do not constitute a fatal flaw

Clips? I remove them for any normal sized pocket knife. An unnecessary convenience type accessory that actually gets in the way, but seems to be a sticking point for so many. Maybe I will live long enough to see some type of magnet type usage that does not take away from the form of the knife...magn...

Re: Your personal size categories?

Small: Something small enough to fit on a keychain, yet still works in a pocket. Too small to get all fingers on it. Ladybug/manbug/grasshopper Normal: Can be used clipless in a pocket without being cumbersome. Can fit all fingers- or at least close - like little big knife dragonfly, chaparral/nativ...

Re: Spyderco Lock Type Preference

Back lock. Just feels better, personally. Though I must admit I like to play/fidget with comp lock and cbbl. I simply prefer to carry/use backlock.

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

Opened a box. Used S90v delica to open box for another s90v delica. I like the s90v delica more than a zdp delica. I prefer zdp in the smaller offerings like dragonfly and manbug/ladybug, but I like the s90v more in larger knives.

Re: What was your 1st Spyderco?

Aus8 se dragonfly with molded in clip. Got it in the 90s. Great knife, very useful. Never really liked the molded in clip.

My oldest son misplaced it at work, never to be seen again.

Re: Something I do not understand about the Chaparral

....Some folks simply leave it partially open overnight or longer, which works as well. Yeah this doesn't actually work. If it did then they're not using very good steel for the springs and they'd all be getting weaker over time. Eventually, people would be complaining the springs are too weak. Peo...

Re: Something I do not understand about the Chaparral

Over time they tend to loosen up/break in. I was going to attempt the fix, but then I bought another one from a local shop that was the last one on display. It was much softer and easier to manipulate the backlock. The shop had not adjusted it, it was simply open and closed a lot. Some folks simply ...

Re: Delica S90V

Thanks for all the tips and suggestions, they are appreciated. I wanted to try and use only the sharpmaker to see how it would handle more than just maintaining a blade in s90v. It definitely took some time, but was successful. I have always wondered if it would work. To be honest, I initially tried...

Re: Delica S90V

I have considered getting an edge pro or something similar at some point. I started out years ago sharpening by hand, but then there were no super steels like today. The sharpmaker is great for most sharpening/maintaining I do, just not the easiest for tougher tasks. I also wear out a little quicker...

Delica S90V

Ordered one over the 4th. Always wanted a reasonably priced s90v pocketable knife to try. For 99 shipped, it was slightly more than ordering a standard delica with shipping. Made it an obvious choice. Well, got it a couple days ago. Looks like a basic black delica, has a little blue trim here and th...

Delica S90v. I passed earlier this year, but the 4th pricing and that little bit of blue just made it worth a try.

Re: Chapparal LW

The chap is actually one of my least favs in my collection. I have come to dislike the wire clip immensely to the point of contemplating of removing the clip altogether or just end up selling it and my lil native serrated( It has the wire clip I hate)... Try it without the clip. I remove the clip o...
