Re: Is my Para 3 Maxamet legit? (Photos)

Based on your pictures and comparing them to my para3 in 204p, it looks legit to me.

Edit to add: the factory edge sometimes has fatigued steel, so will not perform as well initially as it will after you sharpen that surface layer away. And even maxamet will get dull eventually.

Re: FRN/Lightweights: I just can’t get into them

I can take the pivot screws out and it still won't drop shut :) If the Rex45 had screws instead of pins, I know what I'd do, I've tightened the pivot screws back up and loosened just a bit, just before blade play starts. Blew out with compressed air and oiled again. Hopefully it will loosen. The G1...

Re: Pac salt green frn lc200n shipping to dealers!

^^^Yikes, guys! There's only the tiniest bit of side to side play on mine, which goes away when I tighten the pivot (about 1/4 turn tighter than I like it). Same on my h1 pac salt. I figured it was a linerless model thing, since my linered delicas/enduras are rock solid.

Re: Black/Gray Zome + Damascus Delica and Endura Distributor Exclusives

Waaaaaaaaaaaaay too busy looking! Just a hot mess in my opinion. Surprised to see St Nick's putting something out like this, compared to all the other amazing exclusives they've dropped. Agree, that is one ugly knife...... 🤣 It's all subjective, I guess. But I don’t think anyone would say that it's...

Very nice! You should do these for the gayle bradley as well!
Excellent idea (and the GB2, of course).

Not sure why, but with single colour handle it would looks so much better to my eyes. Maybe a bit lighter colour, to offset the darker blade.

BTW nice nails Julia
Thanks, I try. :D

Thank you Julia.

The grind looks to be a flat saber and not a hollow saber, to me at least.
Yes, flat sabre grind. If it's hollow at all, it's so subtle that I can't tell and that it appears flat at the tip. ;)

Re: Black/Gray Zome + Damascus Delica and Endura Distributor Exclusives

I've gotta say, I think it's awesome. ... Excellent pictures, thank you. Can you take one more from the blade point, straight on? It would help clear up some peoples confusion as to the grind. I had a hard time getting my camera to focus on the tip, but here you go. It is definitely a sabre grind. ...

Re: Pac salt green frn lc200n shipping to dealers!

So, I can't decide if this will become a beater like my H1 pac salt, or if it'll be more of an edc. Either way, I can tell it's gonna be a great knife. I agree that it feels more balanced that the heavy-bladed H1 version, and I love the green. I am curious to see how it'll hold up to abuse compared ...

Larrin, I am pretty sure I got you wrong on this - ?: - You found that on a 400 grit CBN stone it takes about the same time and number of passes (or howsoever one chooses to measure this) to bring a knife from a certain "degree of dull" to a certain "degree of sharp" (again, howsoever one defines "...

Re: Watu - aftermarket scales?

I wish I could have taken these in natural light, but it's been downpouring here all day today. As you can see, depending on the angle you look at the scales, the appearance really tends to vary. But, like I said...I think I like that unique trait, it's like a hologram. Resized_20201019_132657.jpeg...

Re: What steel balances attributes best?

Another vote for Cruwear in the non-stainless category. Although hap40 is right up there, too, if a bit less corrosion resistant. I think spy27 is really going to give s30v a run for its money in the well-balanced stainless category, though. It is extremely easy to sharpen, and seems to have compara...
