Re: Stickers in the box!?

Don’t see the attraction, sorry. If I’m buying a knife, that’s what I want. If I want a sticker I’ll order one. To me free swag is just more stuff I need to organize or let go in a responsible way. And I rather spend that energy on something I really wanted in the first place. And quite frankly, the...

Re: High Performance Delica Excitement

This is interesting.
Obviously it wasn’t in my plans, but my planned acquisitions for 2021 are pretty much vapor ware anyways, so this being in the same cutting performance oriented vein, could be worth a try if it’s a bit easier to acquire (regular production).

Re: Do we do people disservice?

It's not my impression that a lot of people ask for advice anyhow, and I don't think that improves the outcome either. I've been that average (knife) person for most of my life, and while it's true that affordable knives with poor edge retention is easier to sharpen in most cases, I think the real d...

Re: My growing love for the Para3

My history with the para 3 is a story of ups and downs It all started with a PM2, which was one of my three first Spyderco's that I bought together. Yep, gotta dive into it properly :) I liked so much about the PM2, the compression lock was an instant hit, I even liked the flat slabs of G10 and the ...

Re: We already have the solution. Now what we need is to find the problem

Absolutely! I don’t know about anyone else, but I will balk at spending 00’s on tools I regularly use, but not on knives I rarely use. Here’s another question .... what cost more? The shoes you are wearing or the knife in your pocket?! Knives, Pens and flashlights 3 things I use most at work, I nev...

Congrats, David! I've only been here long enough to be familiar with a tiny percentage of your twenty-two thousand posts, but what I've read is consistently useful and informative. Your thread on serrations alone, got me down off a fence I never expected to jump. And It has really broadened my persp...

Thanks, vivi!
We’ve had nasty weather for almost two weeks now, but this weekend everything came together. First we had 15” of snow from Wednesday to Friday, then the sky cleared up for us to enjoy all that fresh snow in the sun :)

Re: About that food prep ...

I never do food prep with my EDC folder. I just cut too much nasty materials to be comfortable with that. And most times there isn't a need either, but I keep an Opinel in my drawer at work, just for the odd chance I need to cut a baguette or something for lunch. Travelling, backpacking, hiking or a...

8< ------ .... And they are capable of all this without carrying a knife in their pocket. Like 99% of humanity, I guess. 8< ------ This leads me to think that if we (forumites and, in general, knife aficionados) carry one (or several) and are crazy to discover new steels, new locks and new blade or...

Re: How many is too many?

Too many? what's that? I think most of us that fall into the rabbit hole, are curious persons that like to learn more and gain experience with different steels, locks, grinds, sizes and other design elements. It's hard to achieve that without buying slightly more than strictly necessary to get by wi...

Re: Long Blade Folder Guys ... what you cutting?????

i mean, if we're honest, most people can probably get away with not carrying a knife at all. if we the following the logic of what we absolutely need only, that's what many of us would be left with. i don't need a knife every day. i don't need a big knife most day. i prefer to carry a knife. i pref...

Don’t take apart my knives very often, but I did take apart the Rex lil’native. It was scary tight, but not impossible to get apart. Made sure to use my very best torx bits though.

Re: Huge?

I think a BIG (pun intended) part of all this is how you use your knives . If you have a very urban need for knives and you're not really ham-fisting your knife doing hard cuts and really going for it I think smaller knives may be more comfortable and nimble to use. It's when you have big hands and...

Re: Colors - Talkin' Story - Marketing

Not sure where I heard it, but I very recently heard someone mention that blue is one of (if not the) least naturally occurring colors in nature, and that's why Benchmade chose it for the OG Bugout. I heard that too and I know they mean living things by it, still, it is funny, how the whole huge sk...
