Re: When to not sell
Most of mine are used enough that I'd feel like I'm giving them away at the prices they'd fetch. The ones I have that are BNIB were for future replacements but will go to my son if I don't use them. Most of mine too, but there are a couple of my office EDC knives that got infinitely more pocket tim...

Re: Vanax PM2 Lets Do This!!!
... If the OP has as many people interested as he thinks maybe he should crowdfund his perfect model and have it made instead of trying to invest Spyderco's resources on a limited interest model of not great performance. There are lots of models that are stainproof already at much lower cost. Joe C...

Re: When to not sell
You might find more of a market nowadays with the increase in custom scale makers. This is probably true if you live in the US where you find most of the well known custom scale makers. I've been considering this option already, to either "re-discover" the knife for myself and possibly ke...

When to not sell
This thread is kind of an offshoot from the Collection limiting rules thread: https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=87702 It's one thing to limit what you buy, rules or not, but deciding on what to sell can be much more difficult in my experience. It's one thing when you get a new knife...

Re: Vanax PM2 Lets Do This!!!
i would like to try vanax and even in a pm2, but not with titanium. I enjoy the exploratory questions on the Vanax steel despite production costs but I am still confused on a "dive" knife made of titanium scales. Lock designs aside, can some of the coastal and underwater users educate me ...

Re: Lil' Native FRN?
Backlock and LC200N will do it for me.
If the FRN/FRCP is going to be of the same quality as the Native Salt, I'll rather have G10.

Man, this tiny thing is growing on me http://everydaycarrot.net/onewebmedia/3FE05B64-7C3B-475C-B4F3-96885BF59656-COLLAGE.jpg If this, by some weird coincident, had been my first folder, my dive into the folder rabbit hole could have ended right there. It does my everyday office type cutting so amazi...

Re: Vanax PM2 Lets Do This!!!
This was surprisingly negative. OK, so maybe Josh could have gotten his message across more effectively by choosing a slightly more humble entrance, but really, I just see a guy who is a very devoted enthusiast. We are all different in the way we use our knives and how we share our passion for them....

Re: Where do you grip large knives with a choil?
Some of my knife preferences are probably more linked to some type of OCD rather than practical benefits, but it's still very hard to look past them. Choils on large folders is one such feature. I can understand why some designs and mechanisms wont allow the edge to go all the way back to the handle...

Re: 12 reasons why the Delica is better than the Native
I'll chime in with my subjective noob perspective. It's not a perfect comparison though, since I only have the Salt 2 and Naive Salt. Tangibles: Grip: Delica gets this point. Partly because it fits my narrow hand better, but also because the rounded FRN feels much better in hand. Fit & finish: D...

Re: Collection Limiting Rules
I don't really consider my knife interest as a separate hobby per se, it's more like a side interest that elevates my primary interests, who are mostly in the outdoor domain. So, just like vivi mentions, I have to keep it kind of real and make sure that the time and money spent on knives actually s...

Re: I tried so hard...
I don't know if it's been mentioned, but there is the McBee I did actually consider it as a 5th pocket option myself, but found the Manbug Salt to be a much better match for my preferences. If we look outside of Spyderco, the Bugout is my favorite lightweight folder. The OG is small and light enough...

Re: Collection Limiting Rules
When my knife interest started to develop into something more than just another tool in my "tool box" about 4 years ago, I realized there was so much out there, and I didn't have a clue about any of it. I had never, as far as I remember, in my then 35+ years owned a dedicated folder. Just ...

Re: They're everywhere!
it has never left me wanting a smaller knife. I think the constraints regarding size exist mostly in my head :) My mental constraints tell me that the ideal use case for a folder is something that takes advantage of it's small footprint, this advantage becomes less obvious to me when I have to carr...

Re: A question for Mr Glesser and Spyderco (Clipped Manbug)
I haven't worn jeans in 6 months haha. Do you know how evil it is to say something like that to a Norwegian? If we have a really good summer, I might be able to wear shorts for 6 weeks :) My DF2 is currently my dedicated shorts knife, but I usually don't clip it. Because it's so light, I found it c...

Re: I tried so hard...
- Maybe you could lend him a small backlock knife for some time and he'll see if he gets used to that lock? I really think this is the way to go, if you can convince him to try. Just judging from my own friends that are slightly knife interested, both the back lock and the Spyderco aesthetics isn't...

Re: They're everywhere!
@TomAiello & @JuPaul, thanks for your input. I've never had the opportunity to handle a Shaman, but I have no doubt it's really good. Still my intuition tells me that I would usually prefer a fixed blade for the tasks where the Shaman really shines. Hard use and folding knives is not compatible ...

Re: A question for Mr Glesser and Spyderco (Clipped Manbug)
I've shy'ed away from clipless knives since my knife interest started to pick up speed about 4 years ago. Recently I all of a sudden saw the potential in the Manbug Salt after reading a lot of interesting threads about spyderedged knives on this forum, and decided to give it a try despite not having...

Re: They're everywhere!
I mostly use my knife in outdoor related activities, so I have a natural bias towards the stainless options. To spice up my knife drawer with some handle color and steel variation, I got my Lil'Native in REX 45. Not being stainless didn't matter much for that particular knife, and it's interesting t...
