Re: Locks
After several years I have come to believe the plain old back lock is the superior mechanism for a few reasons. The spring pressure that keeps the blade closed is a huge benefit. I can't count the number of times I have had a "high end" titanium frame lock open accidentally in my pocket. B...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.
I think 15 or even 20 degrees would be ideal seeing as the back side is essentially 0 degrees. My k390 endura is around 20 degrees right now and the edge tends to roll like crazy if it encounters anything hard. At least it doesn't chip, I suppose. Try sharpening the back side at 15/20 and add a sma...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.
I wasn't sure where to post this but it seems most relevant to this thread. I got a new Autonomy yesterday and today decided to touch up the edge (it actually came with a couple rolls in the edge). I started out like I do every knife by coloring the bevel to get an idea of what angle the serrations...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.
I came across a pretty remarkable SE sharpening video on Youtube just now. Using a Tormek, he gets the edge down to an 89 on the BESS scale. https://youtu.be/Gphj7JT_vno Nice results. I did notice that his cut test only involves one scallop at a time instead of a slice cut along the edge. The one i...

Re: Corrosion Reports
During regular carry of my M4 shaman I experienced a significant amount of surface rust forming each day, despite applying my usual eezox which normally protects quite well for a week or more. https://i.postimg.cc/FHzYNRJz/20220906-114920.jpg It was mentioned earlier in this thread that changing th...

Re: Corrosion Reports
K390 endura spyderedge. Southeast USA one work day of carry is enough to cause spots and even rust. Oil or chapstick is not enough protection to last a day. I ended up giving The blade a light polish and it made a HUGE difference. The factory finish is way too coarse for a tool steel like this. Even...

Re: Who else is looking forward to the K390 SE Endura?
I actually would prefer a little more plain edge towards the tip. I find combo edge most useful, but something like a 1/3 plain edge would be nice You can have a little more plain edge at the tip with the Police 4 LW K390 SE. More blade length, edge length, thinner blade stock, and finger choil to ...

Uh...so what?
I will say that $211 in USA for that knife is a little steep but pretty much ALL spydercos are overpriced from when I started collecting about 10 years ago

Re: Endura, Delica, Para2/3 New Design
The liner less FRN knives seem strong enough and have great action. I don't think the design would translate over to the standard offerings, but in a few years it might. The community does seem to enjoy the light weight models quite a bit

I think this is your sign telling you that you simply cannot afford it and therefore should not buy it. However I know these words will fall on deaf ears lol

Re: Official Serration Pattern Thread
Just saying, the serrations on the 111mm Swiss Army knives work extremely well. They slice like a mofo and that Victorinox steel touches up so nicely. You really gotta try a Swiss soldier knife if you haven't already With that said I love my combo edge endura and I have the SE K390 on the way so we ...

I just ordered one from DLT Trading. I debated between plain edge k390, serrated k390, and a pacific salt 2 h1

Just got mine in the mail. See pics on my IG @clipt_poynt
The fit and finish is excellent. I would have done the tanto differently if I designed it, but overall, it’s pretty nice.

Re: Tanto PM2 Support Thread
40 minutes in and not sold out. I wonder if flippers sit back and start sweating when a knife doesn't sell out super fast and start regretting their purchases lol. I hope so. I bought one, and I would take a $10 reduction in future prices just to screw over the weasels who bought them to make money

Re: Tanto PM2 Support Thread
Well, it's 30 $ more then standard S30V with DLC coating. Is it worth that extra money? Hard to tell. If someone is really sold on tanto blades and loves PM2, I think it's not that much expensive. There is a lot more grinding to do with this blade profile, so I think the price is fair. Don't know w...

Re: Tanto PM2 Support Thread
So it’s dropping soon. $192 from bladehq....kinda steep. I get that the grind is a lot more complicated than the FFG version, but for that price, could we at least get a little variation?? Maybe some digicam g10, maybe a fully serrated version? And I don’t buy the line that “tantos just don’t sell” ...

Re: Tanto PM2 Support Thread
I find it funny that people are excited about S45vn (which is EXTREMELY) similar to s35vn in composition, but complain about s30v. The extra % of vanadium in s30v means it’s almost certainly going to outperform both s35vn and S45vn in regards to edge retention. I really don’t understand why so many...
