Re: Spyderco 2023 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

Question: will all the items listed in Reveal 14 come out in 2023? Or, will some come out in 2024? Thanks much. Looking forward to getting a Bodacious. I'd say it's Highly unlikely ... also this from Sal a few days ago in the Bodacious thread https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=95656...

Serrated Jumpmaster II in Magnacut!
I'll second the serrated Jumpmaster 2 as well as a serrated PM2 (or LW/FRN PM2 SE if that ever exists and doesn't suck).

Re: Pacific Salt 2 Green Scales

I'd go in on one with you if you want. I buy green LC200N, you buy black H2, then we ship each other the scales. PM me if you want. Oh was this against the rules? Sorry, I didn't mean to. Seems like it should be allowed, it'd be the easy way to avoid a "Spyderco custom shop" everyone alwa...

Re: LeafJumper

Oh *actually reads the previous posts*, I guess you already noticed the 6 vs 8 hehe. K, well, I can confirm that's true. And about the actual edge angle, I can't be sure, I only have the Sharpmaker, sorry. My thickness meter thingy confirms the 3mm stock and shows around 0.70mm BTE if that helps. Lo...

Re: LeafJumper

You can see and compare them in online videos. I'd recommend going to GPKnives.com and viewing their videos on each knife page. The Leafjumper serrations are a bit smaller than the Endela's, the LJ has 8 big serrations while the End has 6 and a bit more flat edge at the tip. The handle is a bit diff...

Re: Manix jimping poll

I prefer all jimping EXCEPT the choil, since if it accidentally closes and hits your finger it would be smooth. Although I would prefer FRN/FRCP over G-10, especially if it weighed slightly more in the back cuz I think the current lightweights are TOO light/slightly front-heavy. And if they fixed th...

Re: Native 5 salt is Magnacut?

Just going by the catalog and reveal: MagnaCut will be yellow, item #C41PYL5 (and #C41SYL5 for serrated) LC200N will be green, item #C41PGR5 (and #C41SGR5 for serrated) Same as the Salt's/Pacific Salt's/Atlantic Salt's which were yellow (with hollow grind) for H-1 and green (with full flat grind) fo...

Re: Finger choil

I prefer them for safety, if the lock fails/accidentally closes then the choil will hit your finger instead of the blade edge.

Re: Paramilitary issues/questions

Stiffer: very slightly loosen the pivot screw (torx 10) ... can also try very slightly loosening the stop pin screw or adding oil to the pivot/washers Lock stick: this gets a bit worse with a looser pivot or oil on the edges of the lock... make sure pivot isn't too loose/wobbly and you dry any oil f...

Re: Serrated Sprint Runs Wanted? Let's Get Serious

I'd definitely like serrated runs.

• PM2 MagnaCut
• any DLC PM2
• Sage 5
• Chaparral (in something more stainless than XHP)

1) PM2 serrated in MagnaCut
2) PM2 serrated in MagnaCut in DLC
3) RockJumper serrated in a different blade shape (leaf/sheepsfoot/slightly curved belly)
4) Sage 5 serrated
5) Native 5 serrated with compression lock

Re: Manix clicking

It was also thought maybe it's the spring, like, the end of it turning, or getting caught on the cage pin. I dunno. It's a mystery, but more important is how to fix it. I don't even have a Manix to mess with anymore though. According to others, it's happened with new out-of-the-box ones before but i...

Re: Manix clicking

but if not then I hope they change it to a compression lock. This would be a bad idea imho! it would be sad to lose the only real choice here. - Not ambidextrous any more - No longer that self close bias and safety in the pocket - Different ergos (for me "comp.lock cutout-hotspot") This i...

Re: Manix clicking

It's a problem with the lock that happens very often when you disassemble/reassemble. Nobody has yet to figure out the exact cause, whether it's the spring or cage or whatever. Spyderco needs to post their method of assembly so we know how to fix it/avoid it. I personally don't buy Manix's anymore b...

Re: Para 3 LW Coffin

I got a serrated DLC BD1N Para 3 LW and swapped the blade to a blacked out G-10 version since they don't offer a DLC serrated G-10 version, only satin. The LW scales are too smooth and slippery on the edges for me (unlike a Delica/Endela), and I prefer the more balanced weight of the liner'd G-10. I...

Re: BD1N is no slouch, man…

I swapped the BD1N DLC SpyderEdge blade from the Para 3 LW to the blacked out G-10 version since there's no DLC SpyderEdge option on the G-10 for some reason. My main EDC.
