Re: Spyderco Drunken Discontinued?

I would like to thank all those that whined about the original price of the Drunken and whined about the pocket clip. This allowed me to score one in perfect condition on the secondary market for $300.

So, I can put an edge on a Maxamet blade with marshmallows if I use enough of them?

Re: Akhmedov scales...

The folks from Mad Edge sharpening system are near Sumy too. I can't imagine what it must be like to go from one day building your own business riding a bike to work, having coffee and seeing something you conceived starting to grow...and a few days later being in the middle of a war.

Use the blue loctite stick not liquid and your life will change for the better
Truth.
It's so much easier to deal with than the watery stuff in those tiny tubes.

Re: will there be a shaman in magnacut?

I think an interesting offering would be a Magnacut Shaman and ivory G10 scales, with several Shamanic symbols (and Sal's mark) backfilled to mimic scrimshaw.

Re: Best PM2 in either M390/204P/20CV

I'm sure that with strict controls it would be possible to differentiate performance of those 3 versions. As a "typical" user whatever that is...I can't tell any difference. Buy whichever one you can find or the color scales you like. The OEM scales on mine are long gone, sold at what now ...

Re: Black coating came out after 1st wash and never came back

Wenol, Simichrome polish, Mother's Mag Wheel polish will clean it right up. I thought that my DLC PM2 20CV blade was scarred from some less than gentle use. and assumed that was that. A couple of weeks later I decided to do a little maintenance on it and a couple others that needed a touch up. I ran...

I'd be all in for the K390 Shaman (green micarta/G10/titanium...doesn't matter) but for the love of God don't make it a sprint.

Re: MagnaCut Long Term Impact?

I would offer that the initial praise followed by general malaise towards S30V was/is warranted. S30V promised way more than it delivered, although the pendulum has swung again and in certain circles it's considered hip to defend S30V as a fine steel badmouthed by peasants that lack skills or knowle...

Re: Question about Damascus

The blade is layered, VG10 is the center layer. The outer layers are forge welded to produce the etched pattern, no matter how many times you sharpen the blade the cutting edge will always be VG10.

Re: What's your favorite model to OPEN?

I like how easily a flick of the finger snaps a PM2 open and am a big fan of the compression lock. But the most satisfying blade opening experience is thumb opening the Techno 2, it just feels perfect. Better than most ball bearing blades I've handled. From the audio side, I appreciate the Manix 2's...

I like the MagnaCarta tag, no matter what combination it comes in. I'd like to see a MagnaCarta Yojimbo, but if I was betting I'd say it will be another (yawn) Para3 LW

Re: Z-Wear Shaman lookout thread

There aren't enough Crucarta/Z wear Shamans because Spyderco didn't make enough. Period. So the answer is simple, just make more, right? It's never been that simple in any industry I ever worked in, I doubt it's the answer here. I would hazard a guess that Spyderco is at wonderful/awful stage of gro...

I bought mine early from a small shop. I would have rather bought it from DLT to get points, but if you want a sprint you cant wait for your favorite dealer. All of you crying about not getting one, it sucks, but guess what, another model will come and you will like it just as much. Today everybody...

Re: Shaman Z-Wear Sprint - General Discussion & Support thread - (not alerts)

So the slow trickle continues, no idea of the logistics involved in creating, manufacturing and delivering these knives but if I read the date code correctly mine was born August, 2020

I think I'd grab another one if I can be on time for the Blade HQ release
