Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

My Endura cut some cheese and cracked a couple of eggs for my first attempt at microwave scrambled eggs.

Re: ESEE Knives

My wife gave me an ESEE 3HM a couple of years ago. Outside of camping, I don't find much use for it, but it's a nice knife with a comfortable micarta handle. I think it has thinner stock than my wife's Izula. My only real complaint with this particular model is the lack of a guard. I'm always afraid...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

I've got a Spike laying around I never use these days, I might try giving it a cord wrap handle. The Perrin bowies are really nice all purpose blades IMO. I have no comment on any self defense applications, as my experience is strictly in the realm of utility. The design is really nice the way it g...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Hah, you gotta tell me the story behind that chop chop Spike. Here's what I carried this evening. Left the P4 home. https://files.catbox.moe/9blr19.jpg A few years ago, I lost my CRKT Minimalist wharncliffe while working. I missed it so much that I decided to modify a Cold Steel Spike bowie I had s...

Re: Show Your Patina!

Thanks for the pics! (We chatted about the Patina of this knife in the "what Spyderco is in your pocket" - thread) Looks very cool! And is very unique and has a "surprise"-effect, since on a HAP40 / SUS410 blade one would expect a Patina only on the former steel... Thanks! I think it turned out pre...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

I also switched back to my HAP 40 Endura (burnt orange handle version) after a long time of Endela SE and Pac Salt SE. It is such a great model. And I have to repeat: I love to see yours again in this thread!! (As cool as your Clipitool is, don´t get me wrong!) :) One question: How come the "Patina...

In the mean time, I’m gonna pick up another Hap40 Wharncliffe and do a handle swap + look into cutting the top of the blade down, (something like the Hinderer Xm-18 Wharncliffe shape).

Looking forward to seeing pics of it! What handle are you planning to swap with?

Re: Your Thoughts of an Ideal Companion Blade?

Lately, I've been carrying a SE Byrd Rescue 2 (modified to wharncliffe) along side my PE Endura. I generally prefer PE, but SE comes in handy every so often and functions well as a companion blade. Being that it only costs about $25, I don't worry about loss or damage when someone needs to borrow a ...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

@DirtMcGirt glad you got your knife back! But I'm sorry you're out $50 just because someone couldn't do the right thing. It's interesting to think about what all drives people to make decisions and behave a certain way -- life is messy and complicated, I guess. Went for a drive around the lake this ...

I can easily obtain this level of sharpness with a DMT coarse plate.
This is more my style :D

Very cool duct tape wallet! Here's 1 I made a long time ago.

Nice! Is that an Emerson sticker or patch?
