D2 can be chippy, although maybe that’s s function of pushing fir higher hardness in the heat treat. My experiences with D2 did not thrill me, do I’d personally go with the Polestar with BD1 steel.

I always use scissors or clippers to cut braided line. If I'm fishing in salt water I rinse them off with fresh water at the end of the day. In an emergency situation I have no problems cutting braided line with any sharp knife, it's just more difficult to obtain a neat, clean cut.

My two Enduras, with a couple more Spydercos. The Black Endura was the knife that really opened my eyes to Spyderco.
