Re: Native 5 Lightweight Rex 45

If I knew these were hitting the streets so soon I would have waited but got antsy and pulled the trigger on the G10 model yesterday. Oh well gives me a better excuse to pick up a Native Salt down the road. :)

Re: Micro Serrations

"Back in the day", When I was promoting the Sharpmaker, ('80's) I pushed for a sharpening by leading with the cutting edge to create a "scratch pattern" that created "micro serrations" that they would cut better. Most of the "Experts" at the time said I was all wrong and there was no such thing as ...

Re: The best pocket knife ever

I don't know that I call it the best ever...but it's definitely one of my favorites. One of only 2 knives I own 2 of in the same configuration. For those that haven't tried a Spyderco Slipit they're in a different world than a regular slip joint knife. The Spydie hole on a slippie is a game changer....

Re: Mule Team Survey

1) Did you purchase a Mule Team knife in the past? Yes. 2) Did you put a handle on it? Yes, purchased with the knife(s) from SFO. 3) Did you make or buy a sheath? Yes, both the Boltaron and leather options from SFO. 4) Did you test the performance of your Mule? Not formally, I use them in the kitch...

Looks like a lil Matriarch with micarta scales.
Yep. It's my SE lil Matriarch dressed up in micarta scales from Suingab hanging off the hand guard of a sharpmaker on my living room coffee table. ;)

Re: Rex45

I have pre-ordered from them, but no, not sprints. They don't charge you until it ships and you can cancel your order if you find it somewhere else first. If they have something that's hard to get I use them as an insurance policy. They usually don't get stock early, but have always come through for...

Re: Rex45

How the heck are we ever supposed to buy the knives we love if 20 different dealers get 10 knives and sell out in seconds? Who can seriously keep up with this? As a long time spyderco die hard of 12 years, I am surprisingly frustrated and close to being done. I have been eagerly awaiting the para 3...

Re: K390 Sharpening

I find K390 a pleasure to sharpen and the burr to be one of easiest to remove. Also as others have mentioned it responds well to stropping. K390 is a great steel and Spyderco's heat treat is top notch.
