Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Try it with your SE K390 next time @RustyIron. I would be interested to see how that one handles it. Your wish is my command, JSumm . I made another belt today and used the serrated K390. It was better. The serrations cut through the tough outer fabric much more nicely. I used a sawing motion. The ...

Re: Show your Bugs and Critters
This dummy was stretched out across the road on Thursday. To me, it didn't seem like a safe place to sun oneself, so I encouraged him to move along.

Ditto! Loads of them and it continues. I can't guarantee this will solve your problem, but it's the first step. 1. Go to your User Control Panel -- Overview -- Manage Subscriptions. 2. For every entry in that list, click the box and delete it. Don't stop until the list is empty. 3. Click on Board P...

Re: Forum Update/Maintenance & Move - PLEASE READ
How does this work? I tried and my image was still too large. You are correct. I spoke too soon. Images captured at normal size/resolution on my iPhone need to be resized before the forum will accept them. When I'm sitting at my desk working on my computer, resizing is merely an inconvenience. Uplo...

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
The Endura PE K390 was used to make a new drive belt for a lathe today. The material is a rubberized canvas. It's 2" wide and about 3/16" thick. I made a total of three cuts with some scrap particle board backing it up. The knife started off very sharp and ended up rather dull. It was an ...

Re: Show your Flowers and plants photo
That is funny , I did same thing taking a shot of an Endela and didn’t see an ant ! I blamed it on the light ! Isn't the 21st Century awesome? Only a few short years ago, the only people who could take pictures of ants were professional photographers who spent many months' pay on equipment. Now, an...

Re: Show your Flowers and plants photo
All good Rusty , wherever you feel most comfortable. To bug or not to bug that is the question ! Thanks. Today I "identify" as a "Flower and Plant" photographer. This isn't unlike many of my other shots. Rarely am I wearing glasses when I'm shooting, so I don't know exactly what...

Does this belong in "Flowers and Plants," or "Bugs and Critters?"

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native
now you can get one! If you indeed choose so, I bet you´ll love it! Hahahaha! You are SO predictable! While your logic may be sound, I have an irrational predilection for larger blades. Right now, there's no need for me to buy anything from the existing line-up. I have what I need (and then some). ...

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native
Just out of interest: How do YOU feel about the Chaparral FRN as an alternative especially to the G10 Lil Native? I don't own a Chaparral, but I would prefer the bidirectional FRN over the G10. I REALLY like Spyderco's bidirectional surface. The feature that would keep me away from the Chaparral is...

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native
If you own both, can you give us a summary of the strong and weak points of each? The D'fly is truly brilliant. The one-piece handle is the epitome of elegant functionality. It has The Hump. The Lil Native is a flatback. If I wanted a flatback, I'd buy a Buck folder. The only downside of the Dragon...

Getting stoned and flattened out.
The stones that live in the garage are not well cared for. They're not for knives, they're for cutting tools or whatever I might be working on. They get pulled off the shelf when needed. They're generally slopped with cutting oil. If they get gummed up, they get put back and another stone is pulled...

Did you try slopping some lube in there?
There isn't much to go wrong with that lock. Maybe the cage is dragging on the scale before the ball is completely jammed into the gap.

Re: Question about lanyard holes.........
I'm wondering how many people use a lanyard on a pocket knife. To me, it's a useless ugly hole Yup. The hole diminishes from the aesthetics of the knife. Blech. Sometimes you can take a non-lanyard pocket clip and install it on a lanyard-holed knife, improving the looks of the knife on one side.

Re: Flattening Whestones
Why do you all appearantly use specifically a glass plate to stick sandpaper or whatever abrasive to? Why not any other hard plate? (Like some metal)? Glass is cheap. Glass is flat enough. Glass wears slowly enough. I have an old cast iron surface plate. It's not super-precise, but I'd prefer to ke...
