Re: MT40P – HIC Mule Team Dropping Soon!

I am trying. The "add to cart" button is not working and the page was slow to open. I'll keep trying.

EDIT: Done. Bit of a struggle with responsiveness. t seemed to get better the last few minutes.

Re: Would a D'Allara 4 with CBBL interest anyone?

I like my D'Allara a lot. The blade shape is great and I am big fan of the ball lock. The ball provides the pressure to keep the blade shut. It's a brilliantly simple, effective, and elegant mechanism. They lockup on ball locks is fantastic. Agree some scalloping around the scales would be helping. ...

Re: Sold Out Dates for Mules?

Alright, had some time to do some digging on the forum, and this is what I have found so far for the first 10. This should give a decent accurate idea. I will continue to dig through others this weekend hopefully. MT01 - Steel: 52100 | Released: January 2008 | Quantity: Approximately 600 | $79.95 R...

Re: The Sage: A stellar EDC

I agree it's a great knife. It's like a larger Chaparral. Blade is not as thin, but the Sage is still quite slicey. After trying all of them except for the Sage 3, I prefer the Sage 1. Mine is quite used (not sure where it is right now, or I would include a pic). I am not a fan of S30V and keep cons...

Re: Favorite 3” in house spyderco folder?

I love the Native for the steel choices. The Sage cuts better every time. The M4 and Maxamet Sages are nice, but S30V as the standard Sage steel is tired. I think it's time to move the Sage steel from S30V to Magnacut.

Re: Would you want a Damascus Mule?

I have one and don't particularly get the appeal of Damascus steel. It has a pattern. And?

I would buy one because I buy all of them. But I Damascus patterns don't have much appeal for me.

Re: Spyderco is like a horrible disease

Recommendations for a good gateway drug into the Japanese Kitchen Knives? :respect Had a set of Shun Classic 15 years ago but got rid of them because my wife and MIL kept chipping them and breaking the tips off! Figured I needed something a little more robust and dishwasher safe. I'd like to get ba...

Re: Would you want a Damascus Mule?

Meh... I don't quite get the appeal of Damascas patterns for a Mule. I get that they look nice. For me the Mules are more about performance differences rather than aesthetics. There are plenty of Damascus patterned knives available. I would buy a new Damascus patterned Mule because I buy all of them...

Re: Spyderco Online Factory Seconds Sale!

They need to stop new connections so that those already in can finish their transactions and get off the site. There's an idea! Although it would be 2 hours too late at this point, better late than never. I think they need to get a new hosting company that can scale up dynamically and in real time ...

Got it, and thanks. That makes more sense. Now the only question is the handle.

For now I'm going to assume it's legit.

I don't think I've ever seen a Mule that _wasn't_ marked with the steel type. Was the DPS15 mule (MT07) not marked?
It has VG-10 after the DPS 15. The Damascus Mule is VG-10 Damascus, so it saying VG-10 is consistent. I think.

MT07 (damascus) replica or real?

This MT07 has me questioning if it's a counterfeit replica. The markings include "D.P.S. 15" on the blade. I've never seen this on a Spyderco knife, including Mules. I suppose it's possible Spyderco did it on this one. Odd, but maybe? The handle finish is also questionable and unlike any o...

Re: Purpose of a Business?

Late reply to this. Businesses exist to make money. Anything else is a nice to have. Regardless of the mission for your company, you can't fulfill it unless you are a viable business. No margin = no mission. Some will argue that charitable organizations don't need to make money. They do. They still ...

Re: Maybe my most useful knife?

The most useful knife is the one you're not afraid of leaning on and using to it's full potential, and for most people that's likely going to be one of their lesser expensive knives. There may be subjectively better knives but better doesn't always mean more useful. Kinda funny how that works somet...

Interested in both of these. I don't need more AEB-L, but will be interested to see how it performs. It seems to be an underrated and under used steel, particularly for kitchen knives.

Re: 2 new knives

I didn't say I wouldn't carry it. EDC - EVERY DAY carry. I don't see it being my long term EDC knife. Of course I'll use it. I have an S90V Manix as well. I prefer a smaller EDC knife and therefore it doesn't get a lot of pocket time. I'll do a lot of cutting and some sharpening on the 15V blade, bu...

2 new knives

I love the Sage 1, but wanted something different than S30V. Will see if this M4 Sage 5 will displace my S90V Native 5.

Not sure I'll EDC the 15V Manix, but I wanted to try that steel. Image
