A Silky Bigboy saw is great if you have to clear up fallen branches and stuff. Added bonus: it sounds like a sex toy!

Ah who am I kidding, it was the colour combination that did it for me. I'll have to pay import tax in EU which is always a bummer but I'm still stoked to get this one. Love the St Nicks colours.

Guns n Roses mention them in their 1987 hit, Sweet Choil of Mine.

Re: Overall disappointed

Speaking of losing things - I spent weeks looking for a bright orange Olight flashlight which I'd somehow misplaced. Then one day I parked in the snow outside the stables where my daughter goes riding and saw a soft orange glow through the dead leaves and ice. I picked at it, and found my flashlight...

Re: Anyone else concerned?

Has Spyderco done anything with Tommaso Rumici? His Viper Dan is a design masterpiece. He's also done great designs for Lionsteel (H1 Skinner) Oberland Arms (Sepp), Fox Knives (El Capitan) etc.... Me, I'd love to see a Rumici/Spyderco collaboration.

Re: Slight corrosion on old salt blade

Yes, I think it had to be in some kind of unusual environment to avoid instant rusting and decomposition. I was at one of the old crusader forts in Malta which had been upgraded with metal gun emplacements maybe 100 years ago and all the massive iron fittings were crumbling away like sand. (The fort...

Slight corrosion on old salt blade

Amazingly, some dude in Israel found this old crusader sword In the sea! Since it's 900 years old it's unlikely to be a Spyderco but I thought I'd share my astonishment nonetheless. I'm trying to imagine how an old fairly primitive sword would survive a year submerged in salty water, let alone 900 y...

Re: Spyderco Heinnie Haynes UK Penknife G10 back into stock

I told myself I have enough knives to last a lifetime, so I really don't need any more. Of course, as soon as I got the email telling me the HH UKPK was back in stock I lost control of my fingers and before I knew it, I'd ordered one. I guess I will have to pay German import tax (thanks Brexit!) but...

Re: Is my never used SPY27 lightweight para 3 a goner?

I suspect that sharpening a blade the minute it arrives may not be a good idea. Check the thing is working properly then go mental with the sharpening stones. Otherwise, you've physically altered the product in a way which most retailers won't be thrilled about.

Re: New k390 endura is smooth

For one scary moment those last two pictures made me think Spyderco had reinvented the toilet seat. Happily, that's not the case.
But should they decide to innovate in that direction, let's hope they remember to bevel the edges.

Yikes! Absolutely awesome configuration. I think I prefer my micarta handle but visually that stonewash blade takes the cake.

The trick is to keep it filled with Jagermeister then you won't notice any discolouration... or anything else!

Re: Cat underrated?

I know the Cat isn't an expensive knife but mine didn't thrill me much - as it was my first Spyderco I'd expected it to be amazing. The blade was completely off centre, there was nothing comfortable about the handle. Shortly after that I bought a Hap 40 Meerkat which was in a different league altoge...
