Does anyone else keep saying "Shamanomaly" when they try to read this title?

It would be interesting to know something about the QC process of parts themselves, and how likely it is that a bad back spacer made it all the way to assembly.
Fixed it for ya. LOL

Re: Shaman anomaly

One would assume that it was assembled with an unfinished part, missed by manufacturing when sanding (matching) and finishing (scotchbright) the scales, and missed by final inspection. Certainly unusual. I doubt that it is a counterfeit, but this lack of finishing on a part is usually one of a ...

Re: Shaman anomaly

That kind of stuff bothers me. I like parts to line up and fit.

I hear ya, but this actually lines up and fits quite well. This was my first Shaman, and I thought this was normal until I handled others. I am guessing this one unfinished back spacer made it passed QC. It doesn't bother me at all ...

So it was sold as new old stock? Not pre-owned?

It looks off. I've never seen one with such a rough finish non-recessed back spacer.
No, I purchased this new back when they dropped.

Shamanomaly

I have a Shaman with an unusual anomaly from the factory. The backspacer on my Cruwear Micarta sprint run has not been finished like the others. It appears to have been cut out, and polished rather than ground. Here are a couple of photos, with a comparison to the standard. Note how its almost flush ...

The comp lock on that new "burgundy" Millie 2 makes for a strong knife. The steel is interesting. The SPY27 version looks good, also. I hope the exchange rate gets better by the time they are released.
Where are you seeing this burgundy M2?

Re: LC200N Catcherman help...

The problem is the definition that CBSA used to determine what is a "centrifugal knife":

https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/cn-ad/cn18-01-eng.html

2. In accordance with subsection 84(1) of the Criminal Code and the CITT's recent decision in T. LaPlante, the CBSA resolves that centrifugal ...

they can take any folder even if its stiff as heck they will open it 80% of the way and flick the rest and its still considered illegal to bring in. Law is wack. We are allowed to have them but we are not allowed to bring them in from across the border. Yet our knife dealers and suppliers are able ...

I’ve lost knives at secondary inspection in Blaine. Twice.

If you bring a knife, don’t take anything you can’t afford to donate to a Canadian trash bin.
What knives were they?

Re: Spyderco liner locks

Still, this test IS flawed indeed when it comes to the backlock:
The wire noose is actually blocking the lockbar from moving, so the lock could not open / fail, but the blade had to break. Not a real test for LOCK strength...

If you look carefully, the cable is placed just behind the lock ...

Interesting that they did not go with a stainless steel given that it's designed to be a fishing knife. Doesn't really matter, but customers get hung up on that sort of thing.
Is it though? I can't seem to find any information about that.
