Re: Manix 2 - replacing scales...

I think your G10 scales are meant for a regular Manix with liners. That's probably why I can't figure it out... thanks! So the translucent scales are not replaceable? The handle is riveted together. I don't own a lightweight but it would seem that you cannot take it apart without drilling the rivets.

Re: Why all the Manix love?

I recently had mine somehow open part way in my jean pocket. When I reached down to grab the knife I ended up with a nasty slice in my thumb. I don't know how it happened but I will be extra careful going forward. Bugger. Do you remember how the knife was orientated in your pocket? Blade facing dow...

Re: a painful lesson relearned *update*

As a Canadian who sometimes orders stuff from our neighbours to the south, I prefer USPS over any of the couriers.

Re: A month with the Para 3 lightweight!!

I quite like mine, despite the slippery feel of the handle. It gets extra slippery with dry hands.

Call them.
Their toll-free number doesn't work in my area and I am not sure I want the long distance charges I'll incur by calling the other number.

Replacement Screws

Has anyone been able to get replacement screws from Spyderco? I emailed customer service a few weeks ago with a screw request for my PM2 and I haven't heard anything since, even after a follow-up email.

Re: Bolt Action Rifles: Are they the most accurate as some claim?

I don't do serious target shooting. I hunt and shoot for fun. Since I have to be sitting at a bench on a calm day with a sandbag to even tell the difference most of the time it is a moot point to me. I struggle to understand why folks need a rifle that shoots so much more accurately than their own ...

Re: Bolt Action Rifles: Are they the most accurate as some claim?

Bolt Action and Breech Loading Firearms were made experimentally and as prototypes even back into the 1700s and early to middle 1800s but were not adopted in mass by soldiers until the 1860s period and later. Why do you all think this is? Why such a long time for such effective things to replace th...

Para 3 question

Hey everyone,

I just got my first s110v knife, a Para 3. The knife looks perfect, except for this spot in the finger choil that is a bit rough. I am just curious if this is normal. Thanks!

Re: Curiosity....What handgun do you carry????

Since I am in Canada I don't have many options for handgun carry. However, when I am in the woods where bear/wolf/cougar defense may be required I carry a 12g pump-action shotgun with a 13" barrel.

Spyders under a microscope

I decided to take a look at some steel under an old jeweler's microscope. These knives are all close to new with factory edges. Hmm, maybe it just needs some breaking in. It sounds like the stiffness is from the lock bar.

I wonder if the lock spring is too tight? How is the stiffness when you depress the lock while opening it?

Thanks guys. My dad is back home now, and it looks like he is going to have a better chance of getting into a care home after his recent health complications.
