Re: 2024 Official Discontinued List
Surprised me to see the CF Chaparral on the list. It’s the smallest knife I can handle with confidence. Mine is extremely well made. It’s satisfying just opening and closing it—it’s made that well. So, I bought another one, along with the Sun and Moon. Got them from National Knives this morning. He’...

Re: What you don't like about spyderco knives?
I don’t like that my Lil Native C230GPDGRBK opens too easily when loose in my pocket due to a weak detent. After a couple encounters with the edge, I no longer carry it. It’s been relegated to truck console duty now. I have a bunch of compression lock knives, most of them PM2’s. Most are okay but a ...

While I haven’t had to use it for its intended purpose, I appreciate the Yojumbo’s capability.

Re: Orange County, California legal blade limit?
The previous couple of posts sum it up pretty well. I’ve lived here a long time and I’m familiar with the attitudes of law enforcement in SoCal. LEO’s don’t care what the blade length of their own knife is and, with that, if you’re going about your daily activities in a responsible manner, they also...

Re: Canis showed up last night on Spyderco's site!!!
Not Taichung models but I have a KnifeCenter Cruwear and a Knifeworks green/cts/204p, both with softer detents. They sit in the safe.
ETA-sorry-both PM2’s. I think I have nine total. The rest are pretty solid.

Re: Canis showed up last night on Spyderco's site!!!
The detent on the Yojimbo and Yojumbo would be a good benchmark. It’s outstanding on mine.

Re: Canis showed up last night on Spyderco's site!!!
Congratulations on getting one. Do let us know if the stop pin on the new ones still rattle in the closed position when shaken. Yes, please let us know how the detent is, as well. I think Taichung knives have the nicest fit and finish of all the factories, but I don’t like the consistently soft det...

Re: Native Chief blade play when closed?
Thanks, cjk. That may have done it. I thought it was already pretty tight but there was just a bit of pivot adjustment left. The action should smooth out with time.

Re: Native Chief blade play when closed?
The whole blade or just the tip? Just the tip. Within the radius of 1–1.5 mm. And when you put the knife flat on something solid, you can't push the opened, locked blade ~1mm down? I mean, mine moves too, when closed, but I also can move the tip when opened. The blade is rather long for its thickne...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
I’ve quoted this from Sal before and I’ll quote it again. I think it speaks volumes to the extensive personal effort he went to in having this Sprint Run made. While there probably is, I don't know of any other other models with this sort of backstory. I know there is so much more behind this story,...

Re: Lock/Detent strengths on PM2s and 3s
Sharpguy, not to derail, but what do you do to strengthen PM 2 detent? I have a KC Cruwear I really like but it’s soft.

Re: Lock/Detent strengths on PM2s and 3s
My subjective feelings on detent on Spydercos, particularly comp locks, is a strong detent is very desirable. If it is catching or hanging up, there could be something else going like debris or a burr. But if it’s just a matter of pushing it past the detent, I like that very much. I have a couple PM...
