Re: Para 3 lightweight

So glad to hear the positive reviews of the para 3 lightweight. I'm all about weight savings, and have really tossed around the idea of picking one of these up. I currently have a para 3 in G 10, so those of you that have both if you had to give one up for the other which would it be?

Re: mid sized "gentleman" folder

Though having a pretty robust blade, I consider the Lil Native my gentleman's knife.

“Deployment” suggests to me you qualify for Spyderco’s significant military discount. Check it out. One advantage of buying direct is there is no question of authenticity. ;)
Have to agree. One of the best discount programs I have ever seen. Only problem is I can't just buy one knife.

Re: Cara Cara 2 thoughts

Picked up a Cara Cara 2 a couple of weeks ago because I wanted a light, inexpensive yard/work knife. I got the combo edge as I cut vines and rope. I have found the tip to be a little thin for my liking. I have already got a slight bend in the very tip.

Re: Lil native

I have a Lil Native compression lock and it definitely has nested stainless steel liners. I have not had it long enough to put it to any hard use, but it is very firm in hand, and should hold up well.

Re: Back in the fold

I found I had drifted away myself. Back in February I picked up a zome green Delica 4, and it sort of was the spark that re-lit the fire. I have owned other knives over the years, but Spyderco dominates my collection.

Sal, thank you for the reply. Makes sense when you break it down. I'm sure I will pick one up when they become available.

Re: Byrd Harrier (2019)

So based on the reported specs it's a little longer than the Meadowlark 2, and a bit smaller than the Cara Cara 2. Not sure the intended purpose.

Re: Is there a BYRD in your pocket??

I always had a special affection for the Delica. It's just a knife that seems to fit my hand, is lightweight, and smooth deployment. I wanted to try out the Byrd line, so I picked up a Meadowlark 2 in G10. I must say I'm impressed. It may actually feel better in my hand then my Delica, only time wil...

Re: Spyderco Stretch in action

I don't own one, but I'd like to. Just looking at the differences between the stretch and a stretch 2 I prefer the stretch. Guess I'll have to keep my eyes open to see if I can find one sooner or later. Bento Box Shop still has Stretch 1 in stock. VG 10 as well as HAP 40 (Again: If posting such inf...

Re: Cara Cara 2 very stiff.

Well I decided to break it down, I gave it a good cleaning and minor polish. I figured no more than it cost I really wouldn't be out much one way or the other. Much improved now, as it was pretty gummed up.

I have adjusted the lock bar pivot screw. I'll check for a burr.

Re: Cara Cara 2 very stiff.

It's virtually impossible for me to depress the the lock and open the knife at the same time. When I can gey positioned in a way that I can open it anf hold the lock, it opens pretty well. May be I'm just expecting to much based off my Endura's and Delia's.

Cara Cara 2 very stiff.

Just got a new Cara Cara 2 FRN, and it is very stiff opening. I have flushed out the pivot with 70/30 isopropyl alcohol, then blew it out with compressed air, and oiled it. I have lossened the pivot screw to the point it has a lot end play in the blade. I have also found the lock to be very tight. W...

Re: Birthday coming up - thinking of a small EDC Spydie...

I was looking for a light weight, good looking knife with a blade length of 2-2.75". Really wanted something that would blend in with any attire, and after having a Para 3 I knew it had to be a compression lock. The Lil' Native seem to check off all the boxes. I have only carried it one day, bu...

Lil Native, big on form.

I ordered the Lil Native compression lock last week from Spyderco. I have anxiously been waiting its arrival and that day was yesterday. I must say I am very pleased with it. It's what I wanted my dragonfly to be. Don't get me wrong, the DF2 is a great little knife, it just wasn't for me. I'm lookin...

Re: 4 new knives all very dry.

I've noticed the most oil on models straight out of Seki. I don't recall seeing it on anything from Golden, but I'm probably wrong. Either way, I have yet to see a hint of corrosion on anything from Spyderco, even HAP40 and V-Toku. I'm not worried about corrosion, never had an issue with any of my ...
