Re: Whats the next hot piece?
Keep in mind, I have also advised and assisted Spyderco with AEB-L which is of course the antithesis of CPM 15V, I have also worked with Spyderco on CPM MagnaCut, M398 and there will be a mule in 19C27 that I am currently working on the heat treatment for. It's pretty cool watching Spyderco find th...

The 4 that immediately come to mind are: Larrin, Phil Wilson, Deadboxhero (Triple B Handmade), and of course, Sal.

Re: First PM2 question about Cruwear and Micarta
The micarta does flex, but I have not encountered a situation where this was noticeable during actual use. I have both versions and you can't go wrong with either one.

Re: Ti Framelock vs Liner Lock
I think for some there is more confidence in the thickness of a frame lock, as it can appear less likely to slip off the back of the blade. If true, that could possibly be mistaken for strength. According to the anecdotes floating around the internet, titanium is less prone to slipping, but I have ...

Re: I'm in love with Ultem...
I think you all are underestimating the strength of this material. I put in all screws without cracking anything. I dont see these scales getting banged up or cracked like you all fear. Its strong, tough, stuff. Thats nothing though. How well does it handle shock impact? If you dropped it from head...

Re: K390 Worth it?
I think M390 sharpens a little faster, so the sharpmaker might not be ideal for a full sharpening of K390. If you are doing frequent touch-ups with the brown rods, it's not so bad, but you will also (eventually) fatigue the edge, which will lower the edge retention and edge stability. This may or ma...

Re: Shaman 15V, Bad QC
Lots of unnecessary anger towards the OP. Owning three of these knives does not automatically make anyone a flipper. Could very well be a collector or someone buying pre-need replacements. Maybe wants to keep one as a safe queen, one as a user, and re-sell the last one for a bit of a profit. (Becau...

Re: Fixing Lock Rock in Seki FRN lockbacks
It can be fixed by peening the lockbar, but this should not be considered an option. The likelihood of catastrophic damage to the hardened steel lockbar is too great and not worth it, besides, the eventual lock wear would cause the lock rock to return at some point anyway. I've fixed a couple backlo...

Re: What you don't like about spyderco knives?
What I don't like is the same as what I do like, ironically. The amount of choice Spyderco offers is both good and bad. Variety is the spice of life, but too much can make it hard to be content with what you have. I agree with Albatross. The tyranny of choice! Learning to be content with what we ha...

Re: I'm feeling manix
You got the worse end of the deal, BUT S90V is great stuff and you will probably enjoy the scales you ordered, more than the factory setup, so maybe it's not so bad. The previous owner should have done a better job of conveying the condition still. I wouldn't worry about the tip too much, because it...

Some Random Questions and Requests
I apologize if any of these have been addressed already. Questions: The upcoming Manix 2 with 15V is exciting and I plan to get one, but I would like to know if there are any plans for other models to get the same treatment? Will there be a 15V Military (1, 2 or both?), Native, or PM2 sprint? The mi...

Re: "Knife People" more price sensitive?
Every so often a new thread is started on here, complaining about MAP pricing, along with arguments about how the prices should be lower because X brand sells a comparable model for $50 less. It's not surprising that an ebay seller would run into some unhappy people. The fees that were mentioned pro...

Re: Cheap DIY Scales?
It's going to be cheaper and easier to just buy a knife that already has G10 handle scales, whether that ends up being a Chinese Spyderco, a Native 5, or a Para 3. The Delica, as mentioned above, has nested steel liners, which makes it the only one of the three that can accept custom scales. Having ...

A Shark Lock Sage would be very appealing (if permission to use the lock could be granted).

Re: Has the Paramilitary 2 ship sailed?
Perhaps this is the time for the Spyderco standard production model to come in a color BESIDES black? I vote for some sort of gray. I know that's used on another steel but perhaps a different shade? That would be nice. If that's not in the cards, a Magnacut PM2 with yellow G10 and black hardware wo...
