Re: Opinions Wanted: Top 5 Best Spydercos
Oh yeah, evergreen thread. Gonna go with: 1) Para 3 2) Native 5 3) Military 4) Advocate 5) Stretch 2 All but the Advocate come in a variety of steels so can provide adjustments to flavour to suit. A year later and I'm at: 1) Para 3 - fully functional, covers all bases 2) Gayle Bradley 2 - functiona...

If you are carrying a 'Chef, do you want to carry another Ti-frame lock as the complement? It's a little like wearing all denim... Chap is a great "second", wafer-thin, weighs nothing. It didn't float my boat with respect to enjoyment of use, but it is gentlemanly and eminently functional....

Re: Thee Most Practical Spyder Of All Time? Your Choice?
So many good comments here. I read this thread as: If you strip away all the bells and whistles of modern knife design, what folder do you carry to actually cut stuff when you need it and otherwise no screw around. It's striking that the answer is, for the majority part, the Delica. The FRN VG-10 Ca...

Re: This is devotion...
I've put single-line seams into the pockets of a few pairs of pants that create an internal separated knife "column" so when I have a clipless knife in there, it doesn't flop sideways and look so happy. I'd take a picture but I don't think my colleagues would appreciate my taking my pants ...

Re: DLT Cruwear purple Para3
don't let's get too worked up here - DLT acknowledged they had a problem, indicated that they were working to fix it and probably underestimated the intensity of the spyderfan "cru" - likely put a little more "wear" on their system that anticipated. *refresh* *refresh* *refresh* ...

Re: How about a new Military?
while I would love to see a Millitary in anyone of the steels listed (and more), I voted SPY27 because that's Spyderco's showcase proprietary steel and it would be fitting to put it in a showcase knife like the Military. Plus, I would like to see a balanced stainless steel in the platform other than...

Re: Another "mini" Police thread?
I love the idea of a "compact" Police. I have the P4 G10 and it's an amazing knife, but it can be a little unwieldy in some situations. A compact version with all the Police handle features Sal mentions (narrow handle, less tummy, less butt) would be beautiful. The Delica/Endela/Endura mod...

Re: Collection Limiting Rules
Rule 1: Tools, not rules ("more what you'd call guidelines than actual rules") Rule 2: It's gotta get used Rule 2a: To get proper rotation and use, there is a natural upper limit to size of collection Rule 3: It's gotta bring enjoyment Rule 3a: Enjoyment includes - hand feel, aesthetics, ...

Re: Where do you grip large knives with a choil?
I went through a anti-choil phase for a while, mostly on the basis of wanting additional sharpened length on a given blade. Now I'm more agnostic - with Spyderco you kinda have to embrace the choil or you are gonna have bad time. As far as my grip, I find most often my index finger lands right on th...

I love lists! Favorite knife (today): Para 3 XHP with blurple skinni-fied scales Best work knife: Gayle Bradley 2 - tough, classy, works hard in all directions, not scary to co-workers Best outdoors knife: Military 204P - I live in a temperate coastal rainforest, so I need some stainless in my life ...

Re: One word(s) - Current Favorite Model...GO!
Today's fave: Police 4 Hey Smoochy, I am trying to tally these up here to gauge the favorites of the forum (see my rankings thus far around post 100 and my edited OP), so let's keep it to one post per user in this thread. Just pick a favorite and end it! :D Certainly, I didn't realize the objective...

I'm all for the Military in this config, would also like to see the Shaman as such - would love to see how the contoured scales cooperate with the pattern texture.
