You have great taste, those are three of my top five.
For recommendations, I will offer the other two in my top five:
-A native chief (in whatever scale/steel combo tickles your fancy)if you want something larger. Great blade, great ergos, light and super pocketable for the size.
-A birdseye ...

Re: Why does liner lock still get used on mid-upper tier models?
People have different preferences.
Neither is my favorite lock type, but all else being equal, I would never take a RIL over a well executed liner lock.

It is the blue one, which I like slightly better than the khaki.
Just go slow and don't overheat, or you'll ruin the heat treatment.

Re: Spyderco Micarta vs G10
Related question for you all: can G10 as a handle material be further improved, and if so, what improvements can be made on it, or is it good as is, as long as it is made with quality in mind?
I believe G11 is similar to G10 but more heat resistant and slightly stronger. Doubt it's noticeable in ...

Salt 2:
A lot lighter, slicier, but still strong blade, more cutting edge, good amount of space on the actual handle AND a ricasso for choking up, thinner, better carry , more chamfered handle/nicer ergos...
Or for still a tad less weight than the linerless FRN Native there is the supersturdy ...

My go-to recs on this type of knife are usually dragonfly, lil native or cat, but I decided to take a look at the catalog and I saw something interesting that I didn't even remember existed: the insistent.
I've never handled one, but on paper it has a lot going for it. Blade just under 2.5in, G10 ...

since my wife consistently steals my Manbug and says it's "ours" so she doesn't need her own knife.
Sounds like my Cat. Sometimes it's lost, sometimes it's in a drawer, sometimes it's in the bottom of her purse. When I see it on the counter every few months it's like seeing an old friend ...

I just noticed that on the SFO page for the knives that are available (endura and endela)it says "Additional discounts not applicable for this item". Which in the past has meant no opfocus discount.

Whatever you have on hand will probably work as long as it's not the super strong stuff (red and some types of green are far stronger than you want on a small fastener). If it doesn't say medium strength or lower, stay away.
If you're buying, the blue stick is highly recommended. Not too strong ...

The way most manufacturers do stonewash reminds me the old galvanized steel trash cans and buckets we had when I was a kid. Not something I want to be reminded of when I look at an expensive knife.
I don't own any spydies in stonewash, but if memory serves, their stonewash looks less trash-canny ...

I prefer the delica over the salt due to the slightly pointier tip, but the salt is a great knife and he may like it better since he is an angler.
You can't go wrong either way.

The Paramilitary has always been comp lock so the listing is probably one of the following:

- a typo/mistake
- actually a listing for the similar looking Spyderco military that has a liner lock

If you have a local shop, I would try to get my hands on a variety and see what works best for you ergonomically. For example, the endura and the native chief are both great knives in a similar size, but the ergos on the chief just work better for me, others love the endura.

Always good to see variety and collabs with other makers, but thick framelock flippers were never my thing. Maybe the hollow grind will help it slice, but I'll never understand 4mm stock on a folding knife.

For me it's the worker. That knife completely changed the definition of "pocketknife" and it's the image in my head when someone says "Spyderco".

In my part of the knife community, every knife company should start any introduction to a knife of interest with the blade steel and its hrc. That is a world of pertinent information. This is the nine tenths of the required knowledge lying below the surface of what we can see. Everything that ...
