Re: McBee Super-Deep Carry
Not a clip-related post but I searched the forum and there doesn’t seem to “bee” a dedicated thread for the lil’ guy (not sure how that’s possible). Anyway, McNees Custom Knives is now offering black, green and brown Micarta replacement scales for the McBee (presentation side only obviously). I gra...

Re: McBee Super-Deep Carry
This is awesome! I have several of this specific clip so I think I’ll do your mod to my mcbee right now. Thanks! Did you try out the clip? I did, but I used an extra two-hole clip like the one Spydiegirl is using because it more closely matched the finish of the Mcbee and was more subtle than the o...

Re: Leatherman Raptor scissors - overpriced, or worth the price?
I always wanted to try the raptors, but the price has kept me away. I've been using countycomm's trauma shears for about 8 years & they work great. They're pretty affordable & they have three different sizes. (Also GITD) 013, you win the award for creepiest avatar. I nearly struck my laptop...

Re: Black Stonewash
I have a question. Why is this called black stonewash? And what exactly IS stonewash? Stonewash is sometimes ceramic media in a rock tumbler, or smooth pebbles with wd-40 in duct-tape sealed coffee jar wrapped in towels put in a drying machine. I am not a metallurgist, a chemical engineer, or a kni...

Re: Black Stonewash
The above photos seem to be ferric chloride etched, then stonewashed. The only knives I've seen blackwashed have a black coating which is then stonewashed.......

Re: I Don't Get The "Spydie-Flick."
I can neither confirm nor deny Spydieflicking. I just want to point out that the Spydiehole was never intended for that operation. In my opinion, Spydieflicking is better suited to non-critical/non-tactical roles.

Re: stonewash/acidwash
one of my favorite budget knives is d2 with stonewash and i have been fortunate not to have corrosion issues with it. i probably wouldn’t suggest stonewash for a non-stainless steel, but it’s fine on steels like s30v and lc200n, etc. I also have a budget d2 w/stonewash & It's been fine. Tool ma...

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
That is a A LOT of money sitting right there!! Always tempted to pull the trigger on an OTF Microtech...but very difficult to get them shipped to NY. Autos are legal in N.Y. If you are fishing/hunting (woods stuff) or are handicapped (many different kinds). There should be no problem obtaining one ...

Re: KC Exclusive Shaman Rosewood REX 45
How well does the pakkawood on these keep clean? The pakkawood I've handled before felt like it'd get real dirty in no time (felt really porous) Ive been carrying mine almost everyday but a few since recieving it. I haven't cleaned mine but it is getting more "grippy" with use and oils an...
