Re: The threesome fight!
I understand your results and preferences. Please understand that I am not a knife guru. I came from a Kershaw, buck, case, Gerber lifestyle. I eventually evolved to a bench made mini-grip, which I bought two. I then got a pm2, a BM940, and most recently a para3 in 52100. ANY oaf the knives you desc...

Re: Source for factory clips
I'm pretty new to the spyderco scene. I came from the bench made world and was wondering if different style factory clips were available. I switched my mini-grips over to the deep carry clips. I simply emailed BM customer service and they sent them to me. I am more than willing to pay for them, but ...

Re: I am gravitating towards smaller knives
Pocket space is very precious real estate... I have a ton of EDC "stuff" that I thought would be great. Most of it lives on top of my dresser lol. I rotate through a PM2, mini-grip, 940, and now a para3. I have a case peanut that serves as my "dress knife". As far as pocket space...

Re: Thinking about a para3 in 52100
I went with the 52100 P3. I like different steels. I have an edge pro sharpener that I said "cost way too much" until I learned how to use it. After learning how to sharpen knives to perfection, I have never looked back. I made a few roselli ultra high carbon blades into hunting knives tha...

Re: Thinking about a para3 in 52100
First impressions.... I opened a box today!!! As always the fit, finish, centering, and function are flawless. The para 3 might be the goldilocks of the group. I am not a lanyard guy, especially on a pocket folder, so that doesn't really interest me. I'm not a "bigger knife" guy. The para ...

Re: Thinking about a para3 in 52100
I ended up ordering one up in 52100. I live in northern Ohio, so I will either patina it or just keep it oiled. I have renaissance wax that I use on some high end shotguns rather than oil... I may use that. I kinda wish they didn't put a lanyard hole in the Para3. I'm sure that is sacrilege around t...

Re: Thinking about a para3 in 52100
Well, it happened. I'll update when it arrives. I looked at a para 3 in s30v and the size and feel was significant enough to try it out. As far as switching pockets, I'm pretty set in my ways. I use the knife all the time, and pray to god I never need the S&W. If it came down to it I'm sure it w...

Re: Thinking about a para3 in 52100
Thanks for all the input. I predict that my pocket will be a $170 lighter... But then again that makes room for the knife. I know I'm on the spyderco forum, but the benchmade 940 carries a lot smaller and easier than the PM2. However it sometimes comes up short on the work side if you are doing a lo...

Thinking about a para3 in 52100
Well my first spydie was a para 2 in s110V blurple... It is a great knife and rotates through pretty regularly. I also carry a bench made 940, and I have 2 mini grips with nearly a million miles on them. One is D2 the other is just the standard issue metal... The Para 3 was a strong contender when I...

Re: Para 3 Lightweight?
My fear of the size on the PM2 almost made me buy a para 3. The paramilitary 2 has a cult following, so I went that way. I have no regrets, but now that I like it I am looking at more. I have a feeling that a para3 lightweight is in my future.

Para 3 Lightweight?
Well I finally drank the cool-aid and bought a PM2 blurple s110v. I always steered away from the size but the design and the ergonomics finally got me to pull the trigger. I will confess that I usually carry (carried) a bench made mini grip. I have zero complaints on the mini grip and have never bee...

Re: Abel Native Exclusive
I have a few Abel reels, their fishing pliers, nippers, hemostats, and a zinger. It is first quality USA made gear. It is all very over priced. The finishes are incredibly tough and have held up to a lot of abuse and days on the stream. As for the artistic versions of their gear? NOPE. I support com...
