Re: scales and sheaths

Since I’m a lefty I have been looking around for a leather sheath . I contacted JRE they suggested the E model. Has anyone tried it on a Mule ? DLT has them available . The JRE Model E sheath fits snugly out of the box with the Halpern contoured scales. It doesn't fit well with wider aftermarket sc...

I’m looking forward to this release! Being a lefty, I appreciate the reversible clip and the distinct look of this model is appealing.

Re: Left handed PM2

I'm a lefty firmly in the "won't compromise for RH knives" camp. I have had the LH PM2 for about a month and feel that it is worth it. A couple of caveats to add to the discussion I have not owned a RH compression lock, so can not give a full comparison. Using my RH for the LH compression ...

Re: Rockjumper = wow!

I've been carrying the RJ exclusively since Sunday. So good :) :spyder:

I can't wait for the leaf blade and have always thought why would I want the same knife in different steels. This one might tip me over the edge.

Re: Please Pardon the shameful sales pitch - Rock Jumper

Any photo out there showing it closed, resting on the back so we can see the spine tip? Not sure what you mean....do you want to see the tip of the blade closed inside the handle? I think the opposite end from the tip. It does stick out from the scales but not annoying because of the scale design.

Apologies if I derailed this thread

Back to RockJumper - sent the clip from my PM2 in for Cerakote, so will be carrying the RJ exclusively this week!

Re: Rock Jumper comparison thread + general info

Is your cut from dropping the blade closed? I've been wondering if people would have issues with that on the Rockjumper. Yes, yes it is. This is the first lockback I have used on a regular basis, so may be user error and will share my thoughts. I have medium sized hands. If my index finger is betwe...

I don't understand why they used a lanyard hole clip.
So one can access the pivot screw in the tip down carry position

Re: Rock Jumper comparison thread + general info

I am left handed and switched the clip over for left side carry. My artistic sense is urging me to switch the scale and pivot screws so that the show side has the buttons instead of the screw heads. Any reason I shouldn't do this? My plan would be to do one at a time so I don't run into any reassem...

Re: Rock Jumper comparison thread + general info

Yeah I completely missed the "while closed" part. The RJ is no doubt wider, it's pretty much exactly as wide as a Caribbean at the top of the thumb ramp/widest point. Thank you. I can't figure out how to get a good picture so I will try my best to compare PM2/RJ closed. They are very simi...

Re: Rock Jumper comparison thread + general info

I guess I couldn't care less about the .3" of blade that it would take fully fill out the handle. Seeing this one in the wild, I have to admit that my interest has been piqued again. The one dimension I'm curious about, and one I haven't seen mentioned yet, is how wide is this thing when it's ...

Re: Rock Jumper comparison thread + general info

Concerning the only tiny critizism I could possibly have on the RockJumper after reading Davids posts (mentioned already by him and me): There would fit more blade and by that cutting edge in the handle: Now, quoting directly from the newest Spyderco byte (September 2020): "One of the primary ...
