Re: Blemishes? Advice Needed
Personally I probably would just tighten everything up and live with that scratch. I'd also make sure I scored another one before sending that one into Spyderco. I kinda doubt they would/could fix it. My bet is they would offer you store credit and that one would go into the 2021 seconds sale. Kind...

Re: Blemishes? Advice Needed
Chances are, with the scratch's location on the blade, it's from contact with the liner in one way or another. So you could probably polish it out yes, but it would likely reappear. I have a few knives with scratches like this, usually from the edge of the finger choil. Best you can do is tune up y...

Blemishes? Advice Needed
I love my new Z-Wear Shaman, and consider myself lucky to have scored one, thanks to a heads-up from a member on this forum (SteelCity16). My issue (is it one?) is that my new specimen came with a scratch on the blade, and it stands out to me every time that I handle the knife. Is this something tha...

Re: Z-Wear Shaman lookout thread
$5 above MAP from this ebay seller "Tin Star Shooting Range". Looks legit. Looks like he started with 20 and now there are 13 left. Most of his feedback is from Spydies and he has 38 different Spydies listed. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Spyderco-C229MPZW-Shaman-Sprint-Run-Z-Wear-Micarta-/174...

Thanks guys! Sorry for the false alarm.

Bots on the Z-Wear Shaman lookout thread?
At the bottom of the Z-Wear Shaman lookout thread page, where it shows who’s online, there are these three users: Bing [Bot], Google [Bot], Majestic-12 [Bot] Are those actual bots, waiting for links to be posted? If so, shouldn’t they be cleaned out? Sorry if I’m wasting everyone’s time, and this is...

Re: Terribly Gritty Action out of the box - Native 5 Fluted Carbon S90V
This was all great intel, guys.
I dropped some lube in the pivot, and 90% of the grit went away.
Obviously then, if I follow any of the above tips, (open and close in soapy water, then lube; disassemble and clean, then lube) the knife will be at 100%.

Re: Terribly Gritty Action out of the box - Native 5 Fluted Carbon S90V
Have you tried any sort of lubrication yet? I second Voodoo' s thought. I might try flushing with mineral oil. May also try compressed air to blow out the Oil. I use liberal applications of mineral oil to flush the joints of new traditionals, which tend to have grinding and buffing residues from ma...

Terribly Gritty Action out of the box - Native 5 Fluted Carbon S90V
Love the knife. Love the steel. Absolutely beautiful. Bought it as a group gift for a good friend and colleague. Presented it to him this afternoon. Would REALLY love to avoid sending it to Colorado for weeks, if at all avoidable. I have experience with loads of Spyderco models, and their stiffness ...

Re: Knifeworks Exclusive CTS-204P Delica 4
I have some pretty cool sprints and exclusives from Golden. Love them all. But despite having XL hands, I always find myself playing with and pocketing these little Delica laser slicers in these great steel offerings (Cru-wear, S90V, etc.). This steel (with its smaller grain size compared to M390, 2...

Re: Sal, Can We Form A Collective, And Order An Exclusive?
Slight deviation everyone, but how were the past forum knives been sold...were those only exclusives to forum members (with tenure) or was it available at a limited run to the public? If there's one thing I really dislike about the Sprint Run format, is that as an international customer with a diff...

Re: Sal, Can We Form A Collective, And Order An Exclusive?
All good intel, thanks!
Perhaps a Native 5 Lockback in the same combo would generate more excitement. Traditional classy chassis, traditional classy scale material.
I’ll put more thought into the recipe until I get a hard no from the powers that be.

Re: Sal, Can We Form A Collective, And Order An Exclusive?
Well, this is a very exciting development! It sounds like I’ve found two partners willing to help me cough up about a million bucks to invest in Spyderco inventory to sit on for a while. And in the middle of a recession. Didn’t think it would be that easy! If not, I can just sell my megayacht, or m...

I mean. If you're serious then become a dealer and cut sal a check. Although every once in a while forum posts go somewhere. Right? If BBS is considered a dealer then the barrier to entry can't be too high. My thoughts exactly. That place is clearly one or two dudes in a garage with pile...

Sal, Can We Form A Collective, And Order An Exclusive?
I was just looking at some of my favorite private label bourbon bottles, while fidgeting with a Shaman. And just like that old Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups ad from the 80s, “You got chocolate in my peanut butter!”, I was struck with an epiphany. Can we form a collective, and write a check for an exclu...
