Re: Military is back in stock!

Holy smokes! 231.00 for the DLC? I bought mine in late 2018 for $175 shipped. It's one of my favorite knives, but that's asking a lot.

Re: What was your 1st Spyderco?

On top is my first Spyderco. Underneath that is my daughter’s first knife ever, I think she was 6 at the time (almost 8 now). She was very clear with me that it had to be pink lol. So that happened to be a Cutlery Shoppe exclusive.

Re: Yojimbo 2 defect

Has anyone modified their Yo Jimbo 2 to try and get rid of this pinch point? I’m considering doing it to mine because I’m having the same issues. Honestly, I don’t ever carry it for this very reason. I’m just not willing to have a knife in my rotation that I need to open in a particular way to avoid...

Re: He-Man Military Lover's Club - Enlist Here

I'll just say the Military is my favorite all around Spyderco model. I've been carrying one for about 2 years now (please make a tip up model!). It's just the standard black in S30V but I don't think I'll buy another one unless something happens to this one. I tend to not buy identical knives in dif...

Re: My modified Manix 2 XL (Quarantine Project)

And yes, despite (as explained in my previous post) I strongly prefer the CBBL for various reasons, the Axxis lock is easier (too easy for me...) to operate. Might be an advantage for people with really weak fingers, maybe due to an illness, surgery or whatever (or admittedly just cause differently...

Re: My modified Manix 2 XL (Quarantine Project)

Bravo Zulu, Matt! Wish I had your patience and commitment. Prior to my current position I worked as a mechanical design draftsman for well over a decade so fair to say I have a fairly good understanding of the time and effort that went into your project. :) Thanks! Yeah I've been doing CAD f...

Re: My modified Manix 2 XL (Quarantine Project)

Sorry for the slow responses guys, I've only posted once before so the mods still need to approve everything. I've been poking around this forum all day though and there are some super knowledgeable people on here! Definitely will be sticking around and posting more in the future. Thanks for the war...

Re: My modified Manix 2 XL (Quarantine Project)

Great work, which I would never, ever be able to do myself! :) And it took a long time for your second post.. the first one was in 2018 (just looked that up), and also about a great project (tip up Millie mod) But may I ask: Why did you switch to an Axxis lock? (Not a criticism, just a question, th...

Re: My modified Manix 2 XL (Quarantine Project)

Very nice! All cut on a CNC? I take it you don't use the choil much? I've always thought that the CBBL was pretty darn similar to the axis lock. I know that one uses a cadet bass bearing with a central spring, and the other uses a perpendicular bar with two "omega springs," but otherwise ...

My modified Manix 2 XL (Quarantine Project)

So, out of all the knives that I own, my Manix 2 XL had my favorite blade design. You just can’t beat the sliceiness of broad FFG blade. However, I always felt like the handle was a little to broad for my hand. My favorite handle design in my collection is hands down the Emerson CQC-8 (not a huge fa...

Re: Tip Up Military Mod

I just modded mine tonight. I used threaded inserts from a Benchmade Freak (the three on the side without the clip). I just threaded a screw part of the way in and pressed on it to pop them out. I happen to have a CNC router so with a little goofing around I milled appropriately sized pockets for th...
