Re: Police research
Duh, I didn't think about that! Could be. Also could be that the blade is the same, and the changes were in the lock bar and pin placement (and the handle unlock depression). I agree that we probably can't know without taking them apart and comparing, and I'm with you, mine aren't coming apart. ;) M...

Re: Police research
HIgher, I checked both of my 1st gen Police, and five later models, and all were 11.8 mm (or very close). None were 10.8.
It may take me a couple of days, but I'll post photos of my 1st gen Police, and a couple of others you might want. I'd be very happy to see wiki get updated, thank you!

Awesome, thanks! :) I've been wondering about that for quite a while.yablanowitz wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 11:17 amThe ones with the domed pins are Tufram coated aluminum. In my photo above, the last two on the right side of the first row are uncoated aluminum. The first, second and fourth on the next row are Tufram coated aluminum.

Re: Police research
FWIW, I have two first gen Police. One is a serrated "PIG" marked, square edge handles, flat grind, forward lock release, blade has longer false edge than later models. The other is a serrated "Police Model" marked, square edge handles, flat grind, forward lock release, shorter f...

Re: Any combo edge fan and why?
I've been carrying combo blade Enduras (AUS8) for many years. First because they looked neat, then I discovered the utility of that configuration. I've cut lots of things I shouldn't have (copper wire, aluminum wire, steel cable, concrete) because of necessity (post Hurricane Andrew). Since then I'v...

Re: Sal, what are the chances for another DS93X Thor blade spydie?
I'd like cheap handles, as long as they're put on with screws. Keep the initial price down, and allow those folks that are so inclined to go nuts with custom scales. Someone will undoubtedly make some, but if it's a liner style, maybe those of us who aren't super handy machinist types can make some ...

Re: A possible old gem!?
Hi Sal, Thanks for the welcome! I have three old Endura 1's, AUS8 with the fat clip. I need to send two of them in to get a spa treatment. They've been used kinda hard, but did everything I asked of them. I'm carrying the third one to this day. I have more Spyderco knives now, but the Endura is my h...

Re: Tanto PM2 Support Thread
I hope Spyderco offers a tanto, and I'll buy one (or more), but I'd really like it in the Military size. If you're gonna go Apocalypse, go Big. :)

Re: A possible old gem!?
I'm not sure about the original purpose, but that hump would appear to reinforce the pivot. I carry a similar Endura (wide integral clip, AUS-8) and it does make holding the knife when thumb opening much easier that it would be without it. The Merlin I just got has the same hump, only smaller.
