I think this is one of those "can´t be perfect for everyone" things. Just like some value a very grippy handle, for others it´s to abrasive; Some want a very pointy tip, for others it´s too fragile and so on.
100% agree with this

Re: Pacific Salt talk

That's what I've been saying for the past half a year. Take PE H1 thin and coarse and it'll outcut most peoples thicker, more polished edges they put on higher edge retention steels. So, I’ve just recently sharpened my first knife this way to give it a try. I typically prefer push cutting, and the ...

thinning them out makes a big difference cutting cardboard. https://youtube.com/watch?v=s4igtwiBK1o The factory grind isn't the best for certain materials, but when you make the transition from edge bevel to primary grind more acute, they slice very well for a saber grind. Re: Manix II spring tension

New to the boards and hoping this is posted correctly. I would like to hear what folks are saying about the spring tension on the Manix II ball bearing lock. The tension on my knife makes it way too hard to close the blade. I have seen some talk about this but have not seen a lot of solutions. Of c...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal

Hi, sorry for the double post but I have an inquiry. I found used diamonds rods sold at like $20 online and ask for the guy to take pics in order to see if they still are usable. I'll post them here and ask you if you think they got enough lifetime in them for the price ? https://i.imgur.com/LQ70iF...

Re: Which endura to get?

I see quite a few people talking about vg10 being good, or underrated. I have to respectfully disagree. I have had very poor edge retention from vg10, even when taking the edge geometry quite thin, like 10 degrees per side. With so many other steels available on the endura, vg10 would be my very las...

Re: Which endura to get?

Definitely the teal s30v endura. National knives still has them for $81 when you make a free account and log in. Then if you don’t like the teal, it’s super easy to rit dye. I dyed my handles black and left the backspacer teal for a splash of color. I’ve had the pac salts in h1, wasn’t a fan. Lc200n...

Re: Pm2 skinny mod questions

If possible, would you be able to post a pic with the exposed liners on one of the pm2’s if you still have?! Thanks for the reply Sure - this one is chopped down smaller w/ Ti scales, but you can see the liners towards the end of the vid, and would be the same unchopped: https://www.instagram.com/p...

Re: Pm2 skinny mod questions

I've skinny modded a few Para2s, and really like em both looks and ergos-wise. It's more involved than skinnying the Para3, cause the liners are wider/taller on the Para2 and you have to grind em down too (vs the Para3 which only involves grinding down the scales). I love the skinny mod on both. If...

Pm2 skinny mod questions

Does anyone have any experience or pics with shiny modding a g10 pm2 with the standard nested liners?

I skinny modded my new full liner micarta version and love it so much. But I wonder how it would look or feel on the nested liner model

I’m shocked the weight is half an ounce less than the base model g10. And the price doesn’t seem too bad.

Small Improvement idea for PM2

I’m looking at my new pm2 the other day, and the thought occurred that it would look a little more awesome if the writing/stamping on the blade would follow the contour of the handle like it does on the para 3. Vs just straight on the Pm2. Thoughts? I imagine it would be an easy CQI to accomplish.

Moving this to General Discussion... Welcome to our forum, PRouleau! The C123CFP Sage 1 was discontinued in 2020, so it will not be back in stock. I'm sorry for the confusion on the website. I just updated it to reflect its discontinued status. As for other models, there are many factors that have ...

What’s the best food safe product to use to prevent corrosion? I’ve heard people say Vaseline. Is there any other good/better ones?

The lanyard hole is in the way just to accommodate about 10% of users.
So true of so many models
Do you think it’s even that high a percentage? I would have guessed under 1%
